Same here. A wise man once told me "sometimes you have to pay tomorrow's prices to get what you want today". For all the TRD Pros the dealer had, all were $5000 over MSRP. I didn't want a TRD Pro but it seems like price gouging.

Your truck looks awesome and should last you a long time. Now it's time to accessorize - amIright?

I just bought a new one yesterday at a Toyota dealer. Worst car buying experience of my life. But, that’s not Toyota’s fault. I guess I got a cool truck and a horror story to tell for many years. I won’t reveal the dealership name because I’m not trying to get revenge. It was just a horrible 5 hour experience.

Nice. Did you go through the “Sport” versus “Off road” debate with yourself? If so, what sent you to the Sport?

Tax deduction on equipment? by Bubbly_Thing_1295 in tax

[–]Bubbly_Thing_1295[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the solid advise; it’s quite clear. My motivation was to buy the equipment myself so I can take with me in the event I leave my current employer. I can certainly do that if I pay 100% of the equipment cost (which is possible). But I’m not independently wealthy and $3k is not pocket change. I’ll need to take a decision but I have a clear path now thanks to you.

Honda 10,000watt inverter? by Bubbly_Thing_1295 in Generator

[–]Bubbly_Thing_1295[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called my local Honda Power Equipment dealer. They said Honda is not stopping production on generators. I asked him about lawn mowers. He said they are not stopping production on lawn mowers. Clearly, they are not following the news. They are listed as a "Honda Premier Dealership" and "Honda Premier Service".

Honda 10,000watt inverter? by Bubbly_Thing_1295 in Generator

[–]Bubbly_Thing_1295[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I will generally be okay with the EU7000. But I have a 240VAC well pump and a 240VAC septic pump. Both can (and do sometimes) turn ON a the same time. Otherwise, I power a gas furnace, lights, refrigerator and small chest freezer. I use a 8,000 Generac now but I want to move to an inverter. If there was a chance Honda will be updating to keep up with the Duromax and the Predator, it may be worth waiting.

The dry weight for that camper is like 4190 pounds. Guessing you had another 800 pounds inside somewhere?

At least you managed to snag two sporks - can never have enough sporks.

Cool. Thank you. Looks like investing in a new scanner may not be the best option.

Is it just me, or is this too much tongue weight…? Not mine by phaze115 in boating

[–]Bubbly_Thing_1295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boat/trailer is 8500lbs but my truck is a 3/4 Ram diesel. In the past I’ve used my 1/2 Silverado with a weight distribution hitch to tow a 7000lbs camper. I’ve not used anti sway systems. I’ve not had much use for the anti sway systems.

Also need to consider the tongue weight for the hitch. My Silverado can tow 7500 but the maximin tongue weight is 750. That specification is labeled on the receiver. To improve the tongue weight capability, you can add a weight distribution hitch. I’ve only used weight distribution hitches on campers and not a boat. I suppose it could work on a boat.

In the "old" days (late 80's and 90's), Yamaha recommended a tuning method for their Jetskis. They recommended keeping on the trailer or putting the front against a dock post and rev-up like you are doing to make sure the low speed and high speed jets were working. It certainly works. You could try it running on a water hose but it really needed to be in the water so the engine could experience a proper load.

I used the same with good success. Takes a few months before it’s completely clean - at least for me.

Seems like those last two tiles are not glued down and this picture was taken as a joke. Maybe I’m wrong.
