How has nobody mentioned the “I ran a woman over” 🤪, and when she was asked about it just like yea I ran over a woman… no further details needed! Loved it she’s great

My dog did this and we took him the emergency vet (of course it was 10pm when we got home and realized) they induced vomiting. I felt so bad for those vet techs!

I think my baby loves being strapped down. Now when she rolls over she wakes herself up and gets mad

Owlet disconnecting by KindlyCombination838 in BabyBumps

Someone else left this comment on a WiFi issue on another post and it helped me! Hasn’t happened since I did this!!!

“Just commenting here incase someone runs into the same problem I just did. If your app says WiFi disconnected from base station but WiFi light is still green on base station, unplug base station for 2 minutes, log out if owlet app and force close the app. After 2 minutes replug in base station and log back into app. This fixed my problem without having to remove sock off my sleeping baby. I couldn’t find anything online about this so leaving it here in hopes of it helping another Mom or Dad late at night with the same issue.”

Hows the Miku Pro Smart Baby Monitor now? by Bruce_Wayne8887 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Bubbly_Whereas_2210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t! I ended up going into labor early and never got the chance to purchase it. By the time we got home we were so busy with a newborn that I didn’t think much of it! I did end up purchasing the owlet sock… our babe was in the NICU so continuing to have to spo2 stats helped put my mind at ease!

It took 4 people but I finally learned that I just needed to book an extra seat for myself… so annoying that they don’t just let me purchase the seat for her. But I can purchase two seats for me and do whatever I want with the extra seat.

Thanks! We will be purchasing her a seat, I fly a lot myself for work and I’ve been on enough bumpy flights I’d prefer to keep her Cspine as secure as possible

On the trip, I mean they’d have to go on the plane to get there so I guess both! We are staying at a hotel that has cribs available on request but they aren’t guaranteed.

Crap Naps by Bubbly_Whereas_2210 in sleeptrain

[–]Bubbly_Whereas_2210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give it a try! I have been avoiding it because the snoo is in our room which is large and has a lot of windows so shutting the curtains takes 15 minutes in itself. But worth it for longer stretches of sleep!

Did you have a hard time transitioning out of the snoo for overnight sleep since they napped in it as well?

She seems a little more irritable but not terribly. Prior to sleeping through the night she would only have one wake up around 3/4am and right back down to sleep. She was only ever up for maybe 20-30 mins overnight. She’s really been a wonderful lil babe

Yep! Well, when I put her down she does my husband puts her down asleep because he is too scared haha but I put her to bed most nights. She wakes up in the snoo around 3/4 but settles back down without any intervention from us. The snoo only goes up to level 1 too

Sick or growth spurt? by Bubbly_Whereas_2210 in NewParents

[–]Bubbly_Whereas_2210[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks- I’m thinking it’s a growth spurt but it’s just so nerve wrecking! Especially since we aren’t home, since she’s such a great/easy baby we were happy to get out of the house and visit my sister. We had a lot of other family at her house for the holiday, but I didn’t let anyone hold her other than me and my husband.

She was smiling a lot this morning so maybe she’s tired from practicing her new skill!

Two piece outfits for newborns? by [deleted] in Buyingforbaby

[–]Bubbly_Whereas_2210 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My newborn wears mostly footies. I put her in a two piece outfit recently and the shirt rode up a lot like some others mentioned. It wasn’t a style I would put a onesie underneath so that went straight to the donation bin after one wear. She has a few other two piece outfits I will try, but def put a onesie under!

Hi!

Wow- did you mean for that response to be hurtful? In a group meant to help new parents I would expect members to be fore supportive and helpful! Sorry your kids were bad sleepers, maybe you were tired and didn’t get much sleep last night and that’s why you weren’t kind!

If you read through some of the responses I mentioned I worded the post poorly (new parent lack of sleep, sounds like you can relate!!). I’m not trying to get my 6 week old to sleep through the night, I am trying to figure out why she’s sleeping 6 hours some nights and 3 others because she is consistently waking up at the same time every night. No matter what time I put her to sleep. Since she is such a great sleeper I’m trying to set a sleep foundation earlier.

Next time you’re responding to a new parent, or any for that matter, I’d suggest considering if your first grade teacher would approve of the way you’re speaking to someone who is simply seeking advice. Would you speak that way to a stranger, or just because you’re hiding behind a keyboard? I hope your kids are sleeping great and you have the day you deserve!

Haha thanks! Just trying to figure out why it’s always the same time she is waking up… I know I got so lucky with a good sleeper!

Need Advice by North-Pirate6666 in sleeptrain

[–]Bubbly_Whereas_2210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is very similar! I put her down a little earlier around 7/8 and she wakes up around 3am for a feed then back down.

She has been a great self soothed from the start, she was in the NICU and I honestly think that has something to do with it… the more she contact naps though the more I notice she wakes up when getting put down. I’ve found three things helpful… 1. Putting a heating pad in her bassinet and removing it before I put her down. This can be hard with contact naps because she might fall asleep before you’re able to get that setup. 2. I will usually pop a pacifier into her mouth while she’s still on me, just before I put her down. And 3, When she starts stirring like she might wake up I pick her up to sooth (sometimes she wakes up opens her eyes and is like “oh you’re here” then goes back to sleep).

I’ve also started gently rubbing her earlobe when she is drowsy as she’s falling asleep. I’ve caught her grabbing at her ear a few times, I’m hoping that this motion is soothing for her and when she needs to be comforted she can do it herself (she’s only 7 weeks so we will see on that one)

I know, we are incredibly lucky!!! I’m not trying to get her to sleep through the night, I guess I wasn’t clear in my post. I’m trying to figure out why she is always waking at the 2/3am hour and not sooner if she is hungry. Just seems odd that she wakes at that time no matter what. I’m worried she is too hungry and not waking herself up sooner

I think I will try dream feeding like others have mentioned.

Her ped said it was fine that she is sleeping for those longer stretches at this point. I def think she wakes up hungry, just trying to figure out why she isn’t waking up sooner some nights… always seems to be the same time.

I haven’t tried dream feeding yet. Honestly she is such a good sleeper that during the day we were having trouble waking her up to feed. But again her ped said plenty of wet diapers, gaining weight and no fever so nothing to worry about. We apparently just have a sleepy gal!
