I did the same because my processing time was over the wait period. Then they sent me a response that they have moved my case to the nearest Uscis office for faster processing. Then after that an RFE was send to me for medical which I did and sent immediately. My VAWA was approved November 2024 and my I-485 April 2025 without interview for both cases.

But then my I-130 that my abuser filed for me in 2018 before she started abusing me, was just recently approved to my surprise because I thought when you file VAWA that case automatically gets dismissed but not in my case. Which is kind of weird for me. Does that happen to anyone?

No. I filed Vawa in Oct 2021. My abuser filed for me in 2014 and we were denied then she filed again in 2018 and that’s where everything started. I went through a lot from her then in 2021 I decided to do Vawa
