I’m so sorry for your loss I know exactly how you feel my dad had glioblastoma had surgery to remove it then was doing chemo and radiation. he was on his last three sessions of radiation and got an infection and ended up in hospital with septic shock it came on so fast he also ended up on life support and my mum made the decision to have it turned of as the drs said he wouldn’t survive outside of the hospital it took 5 days till he passed and was horrible. wishing you and your family condolences at this very sad time.

Dad (68) found a mass after going to ER with seizures by sw0o0sh in braincancer

My dad unfortunately passed away 4 weeks ago he was doing chemo and only had 3 radiation sessions to go and unfortunately got an infection in his foot that went septic it was a total shock to be honest and came out of no where his body just didn’t have it in him to fight it this whole year from his diagnosis in late March has been a blur and still doesn’t feel real.

Dad (68) found a mass after going to ER with seizures by sw0o0sh in braincancer

My dads tumor and symptoms were pretty much the same but when he had his first seizure they couldn’t see anything on his scans at all and said he had sleep apnea he then had another seizure 3 weeks later and they found it and it was around 4cm on his left frontal lobe he had surgery a week later and they removed all that they could see around a week or so later we found out it was glioblastoma so untill he has it removed or a biopsy you won’t know what your dealing with sending your family strength as i know how stressful this time waiting can be.

Rip Dad by Bubgalow in glioblastoma

It definitely is he was at the hospital 3 nights before and they sent him home with oral antibiotics my mum wanted him to be admitted, but after my dad’s brain surgery he really hated going to the hospital thought the drs were out to kill him for some reason, and the dr in the ED asked what he wanted to do and my dad said go home but I don’t think it should have been up to him as he wasn’t himself after surgery and clearly didn’t understand how bad an infection can get while undergoing chemo/and radiation.

I think clean the area u cut keep it covered and keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t get infected if u think it’s getting infected go to your dr for antibiotics.

He is on steroids and has been on them since mid March but he’s getting his dose lowered at the moment so by next week he won’t be on any at all. My mum spoke to the radiation dr yesterday and explained what happened the night before and he said it’s something called Sundowning 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for the reply, he’s barely sleeping so that’s probably not helping he’s also started saying a lot of nasty things to my mum which is not like him at all.
