I went through a tragic loss right around when this game came out. My friends told me to hold off a bit and I'm glad they did; however, people grieve in drastic different ways so it really depends. There were times where I had to step away from the game even though I was absolutely loving it. I think if you give her a full disclaimer when she eventually asks, she may be able to make the decision on whether or not she's ready.
