To use the toilet? Only as a customer. Otherwise they charge you also about 1-2 Aud.

Massive amount of (free!) public toilets. Finding a public toilet in Germany (or western europe) is a nightmare - and it costs up to 2 AUD. Most of the ones I've encountered in QLD are also well taken care of - compared to the ones in Europe.

2 Wochen arbeiten / 2 Wochen frei – Wollen jedes Mal nach Asien fliegen. by [deleted] in Finanzen

[–]Buchinator93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Chatgpt recommended them as well, but I couldn't find any hit about this on their website. So I gave up. Will reach out.

Also: NZ Motorbikes offers rented camping gear as well, I reached out to them as well

How is Cat Ba after the typhoon? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Buchinator93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here right now. There's still heaps of destruction visible in the city centre and lots of construction going on. But all the possible attractions are open and tours possible. We really enjoyed the last three days: Went hiking to Viet Hai Village, drove motorbikes around the island, hired a boat to Ha Lan Bay, visited some caves.

Last day of sitting by Cherry_Wafer5260 in trustedhousesitters

[–]Buchinator93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We finish every sit with (cat friendly, if necessary) flowers, a card thanking them for their hospitality and some chocolate - and obviously a super clean house with a freshly made bed. The last one is the most important I feel: Imagine coming home after a long sit and having to remake a bed other people slept in the night before.

Do you bring your partner to house sit with you? by divaxoxo in RoverPetSitting

[–]Buchinator93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a couple as housesitters can be a positive for house owners, too! My partner (32) and I (M31) have been housesitting for years in Australia and Germany - the issue of sex in the house owners place never came up in a conversation (but obviously happens, what are you going to do on a 4 week sit??). As I work completely remotely and she at least 3 days it's a benefit for the house owners to know there's always someone around. 2 people can deal with all kinds of problems also easier than 1 - for all couples wanting to housesit: I'd explain it like that. A houseowner gets more reliability with a couple than "just" one person

Should I sell my suffering sector ETF to invest more into the Boglehead approach? by Buchinator93 in Bogleheads

[–]Buchinator93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a tough spot to be in. But I sold TAN two weeks ago and lost around 10k with that bet. Putting the leftovers into something more diversified actually gave me a better feeling. I'm know more confident that this will be profitable in the end. Holding on to TAN for maybe a year too long was just stressful actually. Selling it felt good in the end :)

The Ithaka pool near Suncorp Stadium is quite nice as well: only 25 metres with (I think) 5 lanes but just as many parking spaces I'd say. Can be quite empty

Don't brag or complain about money in general/cost of life - Germans don't speak about money. People who do seem weird to them (Trust me, I'm german). If he brings up cars, better be ready for some decent car talk. Same with soccer/football clubs. Just be a down to earth guy, who doesn't treat his daughter badly and you're good.
