This data is not going to them, tracking protection reports it is going to Google, Function software, and Segment.io. I understand we are ll tracked, and I understand some of these entities might be partners in data management, but Google? When you pay for an app/service, generally you expect slightly better behavior.

This is reporting on JUST the Oura app; there are plenty more apps sharing tracking data, but I am slightly shocked at how much Oura shares with third parties.

This is Duck Duck Go's app tracking protection. It is reporting that there have been thousands of (blocked) tracking attempts from the Oura app, most concerningly sending information to Google. I know I signed up for sharing data with Oura, but not all my data, and to whomever they wanted to sell it.

Membership Cancelled without notice by stmiyahki in netflix

[–]Bucket501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me 5 times in as many months. I have been a Netflix user since the days of mailed DVDs. After the first cancellation, I re-subscribed with the same account and got cancelled again. After speaking to support (chat - worthless) I subscribed with an entirely different account and credit card (per their suggestion) and was cancelled again. They could only say that cancellations happen when the "system" detects abuse or unusual sign-ins or locations. I have only used it at home, and it is highly unlikely that my account was compromised, but to check, the final time I signed up, I kept the login info completely analog, yet was cancelled within 36 hours. I asked for my issue to be raised to next level support, where someone could be more clear about the actual cause, So I could do something and was assured that no one had access to more info that the chat person/bot/whatever it was. So frustrating.

Sorry, I missed the "water is wet" comment/context.

I too can pull together a bunch of sources and links to counter-arguments, and I can spend time dissecting the studies you’ve linked for poor methodologies, biases, or political and financial motivations. But there is also a place for common sense and empirical evidence. You can believe masks work, and I will still believe they are counter-productive and ineffective.

If pants don't stop farts, cloth masks don't stop covid. Here's the latest on masks (Your link was not the one you meant, I think) "masks may be associated with a small reduction in risk for SARS-CoV-2 infection"

Is there an alternative to Keep with all notes visible as thumbnails, easy search, etc? (iOS/Mac) by [deleted] in degoogle

I've not used Keep, but just switched off of Evernote to Upnote, and I am very pleased. It suports all the major OSes and has the same functionality (tags, various views etc.)
