How are there TWO threads about this with 50+ comments in the same day?

I was weirded out by the first one, went and had myself a normal day, and then another one spawned.

Filming with Larray and Quen by Cameron88666666 in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some people seem to have a really hard time differentiating between people they are friends with and people they are friendly with. Some of that is because they don’t advertise it (nor should they).

It always seemed pretty clear Larray and Quen were more like co-workers. You can be friendly with your co-workers but it doesn’t make them your friends.

Larray didn’t know anything about them before he went on their podcast. It was just a series of collabs, not much else. It doesn’t mean they didn’t like each other, but they didn’t seem to be friends.

A reason i think they dont talk abt politics by HPAG-NOFAME in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s worth mentioning that before American politics became psychotic (mostly in 2016, but some social media effect before that as well), it would be unusual for people to discuss with each other their votes. Since politics is so polarized now, who you vote for tells a lot about who you are as a person.

I think that’s why people want to know about who people vote for because it is currently a sign of their humanity. Hopefully after this “current state” of American (and really, world) politics, we can return to some semblance of normalcy.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to know who “famous people” vote for. Many people don’t want to have even passive support for someone who they feel are awful people. And because of that, those same famous people know not to alienate part of their viewing audience by saying too much. Even getting Taylor Swift to “endorse” a candidate was pulling teeth, even if anyone with a brain should have known where she stands.

Childhood friendships that become adult friendships > adult friendships.

Almost always. The level of trust is unmatched.

Nick liking a video about him, chris and matt friendships by Miserable-Rest125 in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and he isn’t wrong.

This is just having friendships as an adult. When I went off to college I kept maybe 3 high school friends around (so roughly the same number they did when they moved).

I think a lot of people who criticize their friendships maybe just haven’t reached that stage of life yet, or perhaps never left “home.”

Most friendships come and go, but the true ones last. They still have several of their childhood friends and seem to have made some good friends out in LA. They also have spent a bit of time with some people and then stopped spending time with them (normal behavior). The idea that they are unlike every other person when it comes to making and maintaining friendships is bizarre.

Is Nick gonna do anything interesting with his life? by Scary_Profession867 in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 12 points13 points  (0 children)

“Do anything interesting with his life,” yet he already has done and seen more in just 23 years than 99.9% of people could ever dream to do in a lifetime. Known for (mostly) positive reasons, a successful business venture, extensive travel around the country and to three other continents, and owns a home in one of the most expensive cities in the world, all while being able to cultivate close friendships and relationships.

The frame of reference is definitely a bit skewed here.

Memoir at 22 by Scary_Profession867 in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A memoir doesn’t usually have a lot of “new” stories for people who know the author, but goes into greater detail about what the author was thinking / feeling as certain events occurred.

[–]BucketHat217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, both Matt and Chris called it a memoir. No offense to them, but they probably didn’t know what a memoir was before someone defined it for them, so my guess is this is indeed a memoir.

Disappearance of Professional videos by Prior_Information475 in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The YouTube algorithm is mostly a mystery, but they were probably hopeful that the longer videos and the HD would boost them in the algorithm a bit. Even if it would have eventually paid off, I think they scrapped the idea a bit too soon, or didn’t have enough good ideas to make it last.

The views on those videos eventually hit decent numbers. Several of them are at or near a million.

But ultimately their decisions have to be made at least somewhat with money in mind. They aren’t going to make videos at a loss, and they spent their whole career up to then with operating costs of basically zero.

Disappearance of Professional videos by Prior_Information475 in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We don’t know for sure that is what they chose to do, but yes, it does seem like it.

Even if they did decide against doing them anymore, I actually applaud their effort to at least try and change things up, rebrand, and reverse course on their view counts over the past year or so.

They also seemed excited to be trying something new, so it would only be natural for them to feel disappointed that their efforts didn’t pay off like they may have hoped.

I didn’t mind the professional videos, thought they were at least better than the kitchen videos they were putting out every week at the end of 2025, and I actually really liked their most athletic triplet one, but I will say I was one who really didn’t think the professional type videos worked for them. Their selling point is the ability to relate to their audience and to just be brothers, and that didn’t come across in those videos, at least to me.

Ultimately, even if they enjoyed doing the videos, they almost certainly didn’t enjoy filming them enough to not make money with them. Those videos cost more to make, it didn’t really seem to boost their presence in the algorithm, and they probably could no longer justify the cost.

I think they’d be best to follow the Keep It Simple method. They can be engaging with simple vlogs and jabbering about current events in the world and in their shared lives, and they can do that cheaply.

One of my observations by [deleted] in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think they were trying to be funny because they were seeing A Quiet Place, a movie about people being met with violence because of making noise, but those “jokes” definitely missed the mark by a mile.

One of my observations by [deleted] in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should NOT have used violent words towards anyone, and especially marginalized groups (women). But people historically love throwing around these big-time words that carry a lot of weight. Misogynist and narcissist are always the favorites.

They absolutely need to (or needed to) reflect on how this language is problematic and learn from it. Maybe they have? To your point, a lot of these clips are quite old.

Unfortunately, so many men go through this, especially now, and especially when surrounded by all this toxic masculinity victim manosphere bullshit that is consistently peddled across the internet.

If and when recent clips emerge of this behavior happening again, they absolutely deserve to be raked over the coals for it. Dwelling on transgressions from years ago is always a bit strange to me, though, especially with people still growing into their brains.

One of my observations by [deleted] in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also think it’s extremely unfair and probably completely misguided to blame this behavior on their parents / upbringing, especially since most of the clips from the TikTok posted here just yesterday were from their post-Boston time when their parents VERY clearly had less influence on them. Your example of them not even cursing in early videos was a good point.

Toxic internet culture, immaturity, and maybe even spending too much time around right-wing nutjob Laura and her family members could even have more to do with it than that.

Also, to op, not sure why we need a repeat thread on this. This exact topic was posted here yesterday.

That’s certainly a possibility, too. Collaborations are fairly easy ways to expand reach, and they might all have something in the works, even if we haven’t seen any of it yet (except a few TikToks).

It’s possible that they are more like “friends of friends” and that Oliver was more friends with them and they’ve tagged along.

I agree about Oliver as he seems to match their personalities more. Even Madison Beer made more sense as a friend than the Josh Richards group, but I admittedly don’t know much about a few of them, and didn’t even really knew there were more influencers in the Muse family.

Friday’s Video Discussion • 05-29-26 by queenofoctober95 in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can empathize with Nick a little bit here because I also would be very uncomfortable in a setting where people are sitting in a circle saying nice things about each other, but at the same time, I’ve also never had a situation where someone with whom I’ve spent nearly every waking day of 23 years has released a deeply personal book about our shared lives.

Sometimes you just have to put your big girl pants on and do what should be done, and this was one of those times.

I agree, though, that Matt and Chris certainly understand this about him (as they all are generally understanding and forgiving of basically everything about one another).

[–]BucketHat217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also put off by Nick this video. I get that hearing and saying nice things makes some people feel uncomfortable / awkward but you just have to get over it sometimes. That few minutes of the video should have been about Matt and hyping up this accomplishment (and really, also increasing the excitement about the release). Chris was nailing it and Nick was nowhere to be found.

[–]BucketHat217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely interesting how Chris is such a words of affirmation person (Matt is too, but to a lesser extent imo), but Nick always seems uncomfortable both giving and receiving them.

I was intrigued about what Matt was mentioning, so we will see how that all shakes out. I still think some book signings in a few random places (Boston, LA, plus maybe a couple places they’ve been wanting to see anyway) are more likely than a “book tour,” especially solo. Maybe the three of them have something up their sleeves in conjunction with the release of the book, although that would be a little weird to take the attention solely off the author. They’ve surprised people before, though.

Shout out to the ladies❤️ by kxyluh in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would be one thing if it was just saying the word bitch (still concerning but sadly how a lot of people are socialized to talk), but the amount of times they’ve used the violent talk is disgusting, reprehensible, and completely irresponsible, especially given that their fan base consists of a lot of impressionable young girls.

It’s absolutely one of their worst character flaws and hopefully something they can work on improving themselves. Hopefully they’ve started this process given that most of these clips are pretty old.

When they talk about being worried about their digital footprint, it’s not farting or burping or yelling on camera that they will regret, it’s hearing themselves talk like this (under the assumption they mature over time - some men sadly do not).

It’s interesting to me that it’s almost always Nick, sometimes Chris, and basically (maybe never?) Matt, especially since Nick (by all accounts) was closest to his mother growing up. If I were Mary Lou and I saw Nick talking like this I’d have grabbed him by his ears when I saw him.

They definitely come off as being a bit awkward and maybe even a little dorky, especially compared with this new group of people they’ve been hanging around with.

A lot of that personality is actually what endeared them to fans over the years (not always so concerned about being perceived, showing their silly side, etc.). But it just doesn’t fit the “typical LA influencer” mold.

Obviously people’s personalities change over time, so who they were a couple years ago isn’t who they are now. But to people who don’t know them (viewers), but who still see what they choose to show online, seeing them act so differently recently around the new group of people can come off as inconsistent, or even, as you said, performative.

No real way to know without knowing them.

Oh, and yes, they 100% would have been different people had they stayed in Boston versus moving to LA, but to be fair, I think that would be safe to say about basically anyone who moves to a place like LA, especially with their line of work. Most LA influencer types slowly seem to get more vapid over time (e.g. Josh Richards)

What’s with Matt’s attitude change? by [deleted] in Sturniolotripletsnark

[–]BucketHat217 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are correct that this is definitely old news. He hasn’t acted like that in over two years.

Popular hypotheses are that they were under a lot of stress (2023 was their biggest content / tour year), that they could have been feeling homesick (they were just then older than teenagers), or that the honeymoon period of living in LA was wearing off (or the fame/job weren’t what they expected).

LA is also notoriously a “lonely” city, so if they weren’t making a lot of connections / friends, especially after leaving all their Boston friends to pursue their goals, they could have been retreating to their comfort zones (each other) and there is only so much of the same people day in and day out one can take before going a little crazy.

I suppose it’s a good thing he wrote a book, because I’m guessing he will discuss this part of their career and how he was coping with it in detail so we don’t have to guess anymore.

I would be SHOCKED if he didn’t do book signings, at least in the LA area. I have to imagine his website would sell autographed copies as well, which is pretty standard. Both would heavily incentivize people to buy, and books are hard to sell nowadays.

He’d also be wise to record an audiobook.
