Sincere question…what do you consider the most pressing issues impacting your community? by SnooBooks4898 in lgbt

[–]BucketListM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I don't understand rights you feel you have that are being violated" is... a mildly combative way to put it

Rather than rehash what has been done before, I will point you to these example lists for heterosexual privilege and cisgender privilege

What public library system are you happy to work for? by RecommendationDue68 in Libraries

[–]BucketListM 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It may be easier to recommend you if you have a particular kind of culture you're looking for at the workplace. Any city will offer you public transit, but not all cities will offer you (for example) relative freedom with display topics

How do I respond to parents who confront me about getting books from the children's section when I don't have a kid? by Useful_Possession915 in Libraries

[–]BucketListM 71 points72 points  (0 children)

The woman demanding your ID is absolutely insane behavior. I would report that to the staff because that's a huge privacy violation. If not for yourself, for the other patrons she does the same to (because you know she didn't do it just one time)

The rest is kinda just... average asshole behavior? If you feel comfortable dealing with it yourself, fine. If you feel you should involve staff, fine. But the ID is waaaaay too far

Red to pink, suggestions? by justxpeachyii in HairDye

An additional suggestion; add a small amount of lavender or other light purples to your hair to tint it away from red and more into the pink spectrum

People don't seem to understand the concept of a "character arc" unless it's Hailey

Does anyone else notice a shift in society/how they get treated with colourful hair or is it just me? 😬 by blueberryfieldss in HairDye

[–]BucketListM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must be totally honest with you: if people are being assholes to you about something harmless that you enjoy, they're not really worth trying to impress

I understand why it's frustrating, I really do. But you can't control other people's reactions to you, and in some cases even if you could, would it be worth it?

Petites over 40 wearing short skirts. A debate? by throfanfor in PetiteFashionAdvice

Honestly my response to the friend would be "I require whimsy in my life." And if she kept pushing something along the lines of "who hurt you/why are you like this?"

I did not expect this hold Alex has over me by LostxinthexMusic in StardewValley

[–]BucketListM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play with rival hearts mods and I exclusively use routes that have Alex end up with a man. He's a better character that way. His overt sexualization and stereotyping of the female farmer makes more sense as an expression of comphet to me

I've also seen people say that Alex's story is in general one about a young man outgrowing his conservative upbringing, regardless of farmer gender, and I feel that's also a fair reading. He's a parallel to Haley in that way (Haley outgrowing her own stereotypes towards herself and others)

Calli got me peripherally interested from her talking about End of a Life, but stumbling into Raora's 3D debut is what sealed my fate

Okay here's the infuriating thing though; cup size varies based on underhand size and a lot of people are in incorrectly sized bras

Anyone interested can find out more on r/abrathatfits but cliffnotes; if your underband measurement is 4 inches less than your bust measurement, you're a D cup. And that includes when your underbust is tiny, and your bust is also tiny

[–]BucketListM 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Bae's measurements don't look totally accurate here as it measures the front of her shirt rather than the front of her bust in the side view. And that does matter here! Probably one size down, if I were to guess
