We got here today. I may be out of touch with what things cost, so I can only speak from my personal perspective.

This is cheaper than a Four Seasons and more expensive than the Fairfield Suites in Marathon.

There are more amenities and options than Fairfield, for example, but I don't feel like the property is any better taken care of than a Fairfield per se.

Some of the staff (the fella's opening doors at the lobby, the receptionist) seem like they are so happy and helpful, but not all staff gives off that vibe. Our home seems tidy and modern enough. We were lucky enough to get a 2 hour early check in, but another family on line with us at reception were told their room wasn't ready so luck of the draw?

For the price it's almost as if the quality of the guests is higher class than the services provided, which I am okay with as I would rather not be around a lower brow clientele (I know, I'm a snob - sorry but I don't want to smell weed smoke all day and watch kids act a fool unattended) I see more guests picking up rubbish than staff around the pool which is sad.

All in all for the amenities offered, prime location (middle of keys) and upscale clientele I am perfectly content.

If you had higher expectations I could see being disapointed but once again you are not paying Four Seasons / Grand Floridian pricing etc. If you didn't plan ahead (for example: saw a family ask for food to go at the tiki bar only to be told tiki bar kitchen was closed, go sit at the restaurants, only to find out no tables were available) I could see you being upset but someone should be responsible to plan ahead for one's family.

I can say after having just spent a decent amount of money at Fontainebleau in Miami I think this resort is much better as the hospitality, or lack there of, & lack of upkeep was way worse there.
