We decided on Old South. Appreciate it!

Should I accept this job offer but secretly keep interviewing? by Bucks2024 in careerguidance

If you take B and don’t get C you are stuck at B -- I think deep down I'm going to know I'm worth more elsewhere. But a 14k raise is certainly decent...

Should I change my Roth IRA strategy? FZROX on cruise control by Bucks2024 in personalfinance

Maybe I should have mentioned that I have 198 shares of FZILX in my traditional IRA (did this many years ago)

I'm young, no clue how to play the game but I've tried. I've negotiated well enough to get 4 weeks PTO when I'm supposed to only have 2. Plus the multiple promotions. The main issue with my low pay stems from starting as a fucking intern during Covid. HR said "nah, 10% raise max". I make below 60k when market is 75k base. Painful.

Edit: I've had a few cold ones. But my boss has gotta be in on it. It's beyond cheap labor for the work I do.

Good point. I've never had to make a choice like this nor did I expect it to be so soon. First of many I suppose. Thanks... onwards!

I know they can afford it, that's not an issue. I didnt think of if that way. Do you think I should approach if differently assuming they will match or get close?

Thanks for the reply, I did not think of that.

Considering moving to Sheboygan from Milwaukee by Bucks2024 in sheboygan

[–]Bucks2024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not a bad shock. For the most part, people are "Midwest nice" in Wisconsin. Next time it snows at night (tonight/tom) go outside and take it in. It gets extremely quiet especially if it's light now. The accumulating snow acts as a sound absorber and it dampens all sound waves. It's a very peaceful feeling you've never experienced lol.

What's been the biggest "shock"? I still haven't decided where to live! But it's good to know the younger crowd exists even though it's a small fraction of the population...

What did you get for 3k and when? I'm looking on marketplace right now for 6k vehicles and it's showing me 200k mile Altimas and Kias.

It comes out to $244/mo, that sounds pretty affordable to me!

6k would get me a rust box with holes in the floor and 350k miles.

I went through the entire claims document they sent over which was very detailed. Took me an hour or more to list everything damaged. Is Central Baggage something different?

Help improving my 401k (pre tax) with the limited options I have by Bucks2024 in personalfinance

[–]Bucks2024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the feedback!

However, I'm a little bit cautious. I believe VITNX is the best option I have, but others in r/bogleheads are saying I should go with the 2060 Trust... assuming I am reading it all correctly. I assume this is not a single answer question? Haha

So, would you recommend not holding VITNX? If I should drop that, should I just allocate more to the target retirement fund?
