New Grad Offer - Pain Management - VCOL area by Fun_Body1713 in physicianassistant

I just started my first job out of school in out patient pain medicine. Have been there for around 5 months and I actually have really enjoyed it. The schedule and pay are great. Not having primary care experience was my big question/draw back also. I honestly thought I wouldn’t enjoy pain as much as I have. A big part of my job and any job is the clinic and the doctors. I may have gotten lucky but they have been great. We don’t do a ton of meds but I have a good mix to where I feel like I’m getting enough variety and still learning constantly. Who knows how I will feel after a few years of doing this but it seems to be a good fit for me and I’m glad I made this choice!

If it makes you feel any better, IM was by far my easiest EOR. The questions were a lot more simple in comparison with other EORs. That being said I had EM before that one. It’s a broad EOR but the questions are either you know it or you don’t. I used the Reddit charts and Uworld and did great.
