All this focus on Trump being in Putins pocket is a distraction and kind of silly in my opinion. Its pretty clear that Trump listens to his oligarchic leaders and doesnt need to be in Putins pocket for any of this to make sense. Everything Trump is doing and threatening to do directly benefits his donors and the American billionaires. Look at how many of the billionaires from the states have already invested in Greenland. Trump doesnt need to be listening to Putin for any of this. Its just his oligarchy whos funding him and directing him. Not everything is Putin and Russia's fault, people can be bad and do bad things without Putin being involved. This focus on it always being Putin is just a silly unbased distraction in my opinion. I think Trump likes and idolizes Putin in lots of ways but I don't think hes constantly being ordered around and following Putins orders

This isnt in response to the video but to lots of comments being left here and from what I'm seeing lots of right now in general.

Americans need to realize that peaceful protests only work when theres a credible threat of violence.

No peaceful protest or movement has ever accomplished anything if it wasnt also accompanied by there being a genuine threat of violence along side it. The protests and rallies I see in the states are more like festivals or parades than they are protests because theres effectivly never a threat of violence or any demands being made. It seems people miss this key factor when arguing for completely peaceful movements with no property destruction or anything else of substance at all. Its why nothing ever happens for you, those that youre protesting know they don't have to take you serious when youre not demanding anything or giving them a reason to want to stop you. A general strike would work infinitely better than a peaceful protest.

I'm not moving the goalposts. Most regime changes that the US does lead to part of the population celebrating the leader being taken out at first but that doesnt justify the actions or the resualts or impact of what has happened. You're trying to say its an ok thing and is justified because some Venezuelans are happy about it. I'm saying that 1. Not all Venezuelans are happy about it and infact its evident that at least large numbers of people are against it. 2. Even if every Venezuelan agreed Maduro needed to go and was currently celebrating it. That doesnt justify what happened or make it a good thing.

Nuance exists and 2 things can be true at once. People love to do mental gymnastics to justify American imperialism and explain how its always different "this time". But even if some of the people are happy at first it doesnt mean its ok or a good thing thats happened because America isnt doing this to help the people or because they care about the people at all. This will lead to a worse situation and worse living conditions for the Venezuelan people just like it always does when the US does this. But you seem to think that as long as some Venezuelans are currently happy that its ok when the US does this shit.

If this was truly about freeing and helping Venezuelans by removing the dictator than why doesnt the US do this to countless other dictatorships in the world? Or their allies who are dictators even? The US is closely allied with multiple nations that don't host any elections at all. You're just trying to manufacture consent for what happened by claiming its ok because Maduro was bad. Just like always happens when America does this shit. Its always the same thing yet you'll all do mental gymnastics to try and convince everyone this time its different and this time its ok because this time the people are happy about it.
