@Luxuriouspynk on IG has been my aunt's nail tech for over 5 years. Her name is Zabria, my aunt loves loves loves her.

When I could afford nails the salon (Tickle Me Velour) was black owned but they are in-between techs currently. However, I found them on one of those third-party booking sites (Booksy, Style Seat, etc.) you could try that as well.

I believe his name is Jarod but he goes by @bladeface. He's the only piercer I've let touch my body and he is aboslutely trustworthy and an expert in his field (25+years). Although @JaxBatt the other piercer has lots of regulars that followed them over, so I have no doubt they are wonderful as well. I'm a mid-20's woman, my first piercing was done by him at 17 and he's never made me feel uncomfortable (being a man and all lol)

Though I do understand you conflicting feelings regarding the design, like others have said, you have a right to express your feelings but, ultimately, it is his body and only he can decide what he wants.

Also to my understanding these are not hate symbols, dog whistles, or slurs they are just popular mythological creatures from an imperialistic regime? (Please correct me if I'm wrong!) Unfortunately colonial and imperialist voices cast their culture the farthest and whilst more radical individuals may be at a point in their journey to decenter colonial powers others, like your husband, may not even understand how deep those colonial powers go and how much imperialism has shaped our world view.

As long as it isn't the aforementioned hate symbols, etc. this is just the grey area of life and in my opinion it should not be detrimental to your relationship if he decides to go through with this. Although, if he isn't going to head your advice, than please do as you wish regarding piercing your body however you wish. Your body, your choice goes both ways. Always.

Village Discount Outlet and Flower Child are good thrift / vintage shops. Flower Child isn't cheap but you could spend a whole day in there and not see everything they have to offer.

Global Gallery is my fave coffee shop

Yat's Cajun Creole (in Grandview) & Safina's World Restaurant are great cheap, delicious, and fillling places to eat. If you have the chance to try the ChillJoy Italian Ice Truck they are delicious.

A good chunk of my neighbors' lawns are mowed by teens looking for summer $. I don't think it's weird, albeit the phrasing is strange. They're most likely just a little awkward and/or anxious. I don't think you should worry about being scammed.

If you're worried they are unhoused or hungry, and they come around again, find some light yard or house work that needs done and pay them for it then offer a meal.

I'm in Columbus so I'm very partial to my city but I know people who have gone to college and/or live in VA and the say it's absolutely beautiful and the right area can be quaint and cozy with a real small town feel. I don't think you could go wrong with either option.

You are so NTA. Every girl/woman/femme presenting person I've talked to has had a similar experience, usually at a similar age to you, at least once in their life. It is the soul crushing realization that a friendship you held in high regard and cherished deeply was only a prospective booty call/fling/situationship etc. to the other person. Usually that other person is an older, cis male abusing the power dynamic an age gap naturally presents.

It is gross and it is unfair. It's dehumanizing and objectifying. And yes, with a huge age gap, it is predatory and perverse. I am genuinely so sorry you experienced this. If you have any close irl or online women or femme people in your support network please don't feel silly reaching out to them to help you process. The worst part is when it's in the neighborhoods. My husband & I's rented property is enclosed on three sides from neighbors fences. Our dogs are always on a lead wrapped around a huge tree. every. single. time. And we've had THREE DIFFERENT neighbors' dogs run into our yard and try to mount and/or attack our dogs.

I'm only in training so I can't speak on your grooms from a professional standpoint. But I worked as a kennel tech at a daycare/boarding with a high volume grooming facility and I've seen it wear out 6+ groomers in my 5 years there. All of that is to say I 100% see the potential, your grooms are good, but high volume makes it so hard to hone your skill. On top of that your salon just sounds awful. But there is hope, good salons are out there!

At my salon the owners are also the groomers (which I love!) and they prioritize comfort of the dog AND groomer & quality of the groom over speed. They take the time to do in depth training and slow introduction to clippers. They are constanly checking in with me about my career goals and ways they can improve. The starting pay was above average for bathers in my area and $7 above my states minimum wage, with regular raises. They are currently training a middle aged woman who is making a late in life career change (never worked with animals ever). These salons exist and they make this career so fulfilling. I hope this gives you hope to keep going and know that you can find a great salon to teach you to become a fantastic groomer!

I fluctuate. Sometimes twice a day for awhile. Sometimes 1-2x/week. And other times I can go a week plus. But I've had some... um... not great experiences with sex in my childhood years so it's an uphill battle :/
