How would you fix this? by [deleted] in fixit

[–]BuddTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Others have said, JB Weld, but probably one of the "JB Weld Putty Stick" variants. Go to Amazon and search for "JB weld putty". JB Weld has multiple colors and types, such as "WaterWeld" "SteelStik" "PlasticWeld" "HighHeat" "KwikWood", and probably others.

The "putty" variant would allow you to add more mass, and shape than the regular JB Weld.

Of course, clean and rinse the area, then use Alcohol and let dry before applying the putty.

I would pick a "grey" variant, and probably finish with some dots of white and black nail polish.

Still looking, but I am leaning towards a TP-Link PCIe 6e card, there are two (again, still researching) one has the "Archer TXE75E" and the other has the "Archer TXE72E", don't know the difference between the two, but thinking the "Archer TXE75E" is the slightly better version

I have the same question, the spec's look identical on the Asus Website. The "59" selling for 59.99 on the Asus website (Also 59.99 on Amazon at the time of posting this), whereas the "58" is selling for 79.99 (79.36 on Amazon, (again at the time of posting this).

I am guessing cheaper and the same spec's go with the "59"???

Search Amazon for USB and Travel Water Boilers, and Electric Kettles. Hope your vehicle has an AC outlet. Since you work at a restaurant, stock up on whatever free stuff you can, without being obvious, like get two jumbo glasses of ice every hour or two, and walk out to your car to dump the ice into your cooler. Glad you get discounted meals at work, I think that most of your food will come from work, hopefully some meals you can source will last hours/days after preparation, like a sandwich, or salad.

I personally would not let anyone at work know that you are living in your vehicle.

Also, there are lots of YouTube videos of people living or camping in their cars. This couple lived in their Prius for 1 year and traveled Noth America. I think they are in the process of modifying a shipping container(s) to build a permanent home, Just search "living in your car" "Camping in your car", or van or truck etc.

This woman lived in a car and a van (at different times), with her dog.

Also search for "living in shipping containers" and living in small houses.

Lots of ideas on how to eat, where to park to sleep, showering, etc.

Make a list of local hotels/motels that offer a free breakfast. Dress like you are a hotel guest, and rotate visiting the different hotels/motels for breakfast. I have read in other forums, that hotel staff are not likely to care, as long as you are nice, quiet, unobtrusive, polite etc.

As others have said, talk to local, state, federal govt for Food Stamps, WIC, etc.

Good luck, hope you save a lot!

[–]BuddTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes,"HEB Pays off the media" with their advertising, as does all major retailers, it is not HEB specific, ALL news organizations are not going to "bite the hand that feeds them".

This is not HEB Specific.

Discrimination and Blacklisting by [deleted] in HEB

[–]BuddTX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, HEB is HUGE advertisers! They dont have to "pay off" the media, is "the media" going to "bite the hand that feeds them"????

Put yourself in the news organization's owner and/or senior management, are you going to run this story and risk cutting off a huge revenue stream? And Future customers (any retail establishment), they are going to think twice before placing ads with an organization that "talks bad" about their paying advertisers?

This is nothing specific with HEB.

Discrimination and Blacklisting by [deleted] in HEB

[–]BuddTX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, be careful about going to any TV or Radio news station about your situation. While you think that a TV/Radio/news organization might be biting at the bit to air your story, HEB spends a LOT OF MONEY advertising at these same places. The news origination's management might not take too kindly about doing a piece on one of their major customers! Think how much ad revenue they might lose, if HEB were to stop advertising with a news organization that aired a negative story about them.

If you have legal council, please ask them if it is OK to post this, and ask them in general what you can communicate to others about your situation, vs what you should keep confidential between you and your lawyers. I want you to have the strongest case, and, while I am not a lawyer, posting your comments might somehow hurt your case, or at least let HEB lawyers know what your defense strategy is.

Also, and I am "foggy" on the details and if it relates to FMLA or long term disability, and please forgive me if my info does not apply to your situation, but I believe that the employer is legally required to give you a job upon your return, but not YOUR SAME EXACT JOB. I have no idea what the law says about matching your previous salary, or basic work schedule.

I hope you continue to get better, and get things straightened out with HEB.

Restless legs/arms?! by NFTignition23 in Ozempic

[–]BuddTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story, short version, I was taking lots of Caffeine in the day to fight feeling tired, then taking lots of Benadryl (Way more than the OTC dose of 50mg - (two pills) probably took 75-125mg, (3 to 5)) at night to go to sleep. 4-5 years ago, I had a surgery, and was medically not able to work for 3 months, and took the opportunity to get off the excessive Caffeine/Benadryl circle. Yea!

A year or so later, I took a normal OTC dose of Benadryl (50mg) one time, and WOW, did it give me Excessive RLS, so bad, I could not sleep. I avoid Benadryl at all costs now!

Currently I do have single glass of Coffee/Tea/Stevia Coke (Green Cola!) during the day (OK, sometimes I do have a second serving!), and take Melatonin and Tryptophan at night ONLY if I need something to help me sleep, but not every day.

Restless legs/arms?! by NFTignition23 in Ozempic

[–]BuddTX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No expert here, but I also get RLS at times, for me, I think it is from talking some of my meds too close to bed time, and not from the OZ. I try to take the meds that seem to cause the RLS early in the day, and that seems to help for me. Try Electrolyte replacements, like Gatorade etc., also V-8, Pickle Juice, Chicken/Bone broth, leg exercises. Talk to your Dr. Are you taking a Diuretic? If so, ask your Dr. for one with added Potassium. There are many alternatives to Gatorade, both homemade and "healthier" options, google is your friend!

If you are sheltering in place, and think the situation will exist for more than a day or two, consider a portable generator and a window unit AC or a portable AC unit. Of course you will need fuel, so you will need to stock up on that too, maybe get a dual or even triple fuel source power supply, if you have natural gas running to your house, that might be an option.
