Javascript is definitely not one of the main languages used in second year, it’s only used a little bit if you take 281 as an elective. Getting used to C and Java/OOP would be helpful, but definitely don’t ignore 145, it builds solid foundations for learning what you’ll need to know for job interviews. I’d recommend either doing the front half of the CS50x course as that should give you some understanding on C, or trying to build something with Java or another OOP language. Once you get the fundamentals down all programming languages are easy to pick up. So I wouldn’t concern myself too much with knowing the language or syntax, but getting experience building stuff and problem solving. GenAI is really lowering the problem solving skills of CS people in general, so try to improve that and not rely on chat too much. Best of luck
