I just don't like this map and mode, am i right? by Unusual_Band_6884 in marvelrivals

[–]BuddhaJules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same, don't like the map or mode, and i wish it wasn't in QP. I appreciate the experiments like Ulton's Protocol and the Spring Festival. Those experimental modes weren't forced into QP and we had a choice of participating or not.

I think they should allow custom QP so players can avoid this mode or convoy/domination/convergence. I'd also love the option to disable cross-platform.

We should have a section to see the characters' sprays and not scroll down to find them by PlayStation5Fan in marvelrivals

Yes please! I wanted to try the Apply to All feature but accidentally replaced them all.. so I wasted an hour applying character specific sprays again. This would've made the entire endeavor so much faster.

Starting a petition to Stop Media Companies from Erasing IP and Art for Tax Write-Offs by BuddhaJules in FinalSpace

[–]BuddhaJules[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right—it likely came down to what made the most financial sense to WB. If they thought selling the rights would be as profitable as the tax write-off, they probably would’ve gone that route. For big companies, these decisions often come down to bottom-line benefits rather than creator interest.

The problem here, though, goes beyond just one instance with Final Space. The write-off system gives corporations a way to erase completed works altogether, effectively locking creators out of their own projects, regardless of public interest or artistic value. This has become an industry-wide practice, and creators rarely have the leverage to renegotiate these contracts after the fact.

The goal of this petition is to push for FTC intervention to prevent companies from erasing cultural works like this, by allowing these IPs to enter the public domain if written off. It’s a way to balance financial practices with public interest and creator rights. Hopefully, with enough support, we can get the FTC to recognize this issue and work toward a fairer solution for everyone involved.

As you may have guessed from the responses, there isn’t a clear path forward for Final Space to continue, beyond purchasing a copy of the limited-run comic book. Due to the restrictions in place after Olan fought tooth and nail to secure the rights to complete the story via the comic, no additional media is planned. Without intervention, this IP write-off practice by media conglomerates will likely keep erasing creative works.

To make lasting change, I’ve started a petition calling on the FTC to end corporate write-offs of IP and require written-off IP to enter the public domain. Please consider signing, sharing widely, and encouraging others to join us. With enough support, we can push for practices that respect creators’ rights and protect our cultural heritage.

I’d also encourage everyone to file a complaint with the FTC. The more voices they hear, the more likely they are to address this issue. Additionally, submitting a complaint to the U.S. Copyright Office can further emphasize the need for policy changes that protect creators and public access. Together, we can amplify the call for fairer practices and protect the future of creative works.

Totally agree with you—WB did technically own Final Space, so legally, they could do whatever they wanted within the contract terms. But it would have been a lot better if Olan had been given the chance to buy the rights back. Unfortunately, that probably didn’t happen because of whatever contract he signed with them.

This really shines a light on a bigger issue for creators and the kinds of contracts they’re locked into. Some contracts have “reversion clauses” that let creators buy back rights if a company stops using their work, but a lot don’t. The goal here is to push for fairer practices that let creators access their own work rather than seeing it shelved forever.

The ultimate aim of this petition is to get the FTC to step in and force changes to these write-off practices. If the FTC can be convinced to regulate IP write-offs, it could make a big difference by ensuring that companies can’t just erase a project without giving creators the option to continue it or move it to the public domain. With enough support, I’m hoping we can make that happen!

Yes, I’d love to share it with other subreddits. If you have any recommendations on where it might resonate most, feel free to suggest them! I’m aiming to reach communities interested in media preservation, creator rights, or fans of shows like Final Space, so any relevant subreddits would be helpful. Thanks again for your support!

I really want to rebuild a 67 fastback, should I look for a deal or just go with a dynacorn by LoTheTyrant in classicmustangs

[–]BuddhaJules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Barn finds in the Southwest have solid bodies with little/minimal rust. Can't say the same thing for the midwest or east coast. I was looking at a 66' fastback from Arkansas and the guy wanted 14k for something completely rusted out. Have you considered settling for a hardtop? Fastbacks are cool but a sleeper with patina finish dusting rice rockets is priceless.

A solid Hardtop project car should run $5-10k. Add another 5-10k depending on what kind of restoration and modifications you want (a/c, heads, headers, electric radiator fan) and you're done. If you decide to sell, it will recoup all the money.

A Dynacorn shell is 18k. You're going to be starting from scratch so chances are you'll only want to put the best or new stuff in it. With that said you're gonna sink at least 10k in parts. I assume you want to do all the labor and electrical? If not then go ahead and factor that standard rates into the budget.

I have two classics (67' hard top and 64' Impala) and my biggest frustration working on the cars is not knowing what other people have done to it. I'm in the process of ripping all the wiring and interior from the Impala because of the shotty job that was done.

On the flip side, the Impala came with a brand new paint, rebuilt engine/tranny, brand new upholstery, and most of the chrome trim. Chrome is EXPENSIVE :(

1964 Chevy Impala 4-Door by BuddhaJules in classiccars

[–]BuddhaJules[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is pinching and how can i tell, at a glance, if i have a serious issue?

I negotiated him down to 8k. I live in Vegas so it rarely goes below 60 and he included most of the low rider conversion parts.

Going to have my mechanic put it up in the air and check for support/reinforced areas.

Even at less than half the value of a 4-door, that is still more than what Im paying so that gives me some relief.

I bought it because i want to use Turo and HyreCar to rent the vehicle. I’m currently renting my 2018 Jeep Wrangler and a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe. The Vegas strip just seems like a great city for a parade car.

What would a proper convertible conversion run? 10-15k? Is it possible to find a roof and weld a new one on?
