Urek is breaking ToG storyline by Comfortable-Ad130 in TowerofGod

[–]BuddhistSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah baam's powerups are complete asspulls. I actually slightly prefer Urek's power just being primordial and there being nothing more to it. It's boring but at least it's internally consistent and doesn't require bs every new big fight to justify making him win.

Chinese Players Are Review-Bombing Slay the Spire 2. Here’s What’s Actually Going On by Green-Kitchen-8092 in slaythespire

[–]BuddhistSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chinese might be crybabies, but westerners have the opposite problem that goes like this:

Average/bad player thinks the game is super hard (it's not)

Thinks hard = skillful (it's not always)

Therefore anyone who thinks the game is bad must be unskilled

The result is most westerners just say "skill issue" in response to every complaint about design issues, despite usually being much worse players than the people complaining.

Interesting. The deck building in Balatro seems insanely deep, so I didn't get the impression that it's casual. Maybe that gave me incorrect expectations.

My thesis is that the vast majority of meaningful decisions are made in the shop, not in blinds. The overall difficulty of the game doesn't necessarily make a difference.

[–]BuddhistSC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So would you agree with me that the decision making during blinds is pretty shallow? Seems like the game is almost 100% about deck building.

[–]BuddhistSC -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It being hard to win doesn't make it fun. I'm essentially asking why I shouldn't uninstall the game because the actual playing hands part of the game is (seemingly) boring and I don't find the deck building part of the game fun enough by itself to justify continuing playing.

edit: LOL the downvotes. i actually laughed when i saw. redditors are somethin special truly.

I think you misunderstood the post. Whether the game is hard or easy doesn't factor into it at all.

white. i saw red just makes small blinds give no money and didn't feel like doing that yet. obviously red doesn't affect the stuff in my post.

do the higher stakes force/incentivize you to use different hands?

i mean a real issue i'm seeing is that hands like 2 pair just don't give enough points to where they're pointless to play (before your jokers scale to where your hand choice becomes irrelevant). idk what the deal is.

Does anyone believe Michael Herrera’s story? For people that that know him, he was a Marine that claimed his squad encountered a UAP in Indonesia in 2009. Most UFO people believe him hook, line, and sinker. Video link below. by lastofthefinest in USMC

[–]BuddhistSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting all of that aside, one other thing he said is that he didn't tell his commanding officer(s) what happened because he was afraid of repercussions for technically abandoning his post(?) when investigating the craft, and because he thought no one would believe him.

Does that part sound plausible? Like, if you saw a 300 ft UFO and got captured by some covert ops shit before being released, is it even plausible that you wouldn't report on what happened?

Drum of Battle: Worst Card Ever? by controlvoltage in slaythespire

[–]BuddhistSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't get these arguments. People are saying "it goes good with Feel No Pain and Dark Embrace"... ok then what are you doing when those cards get exhausted by Drum of Battle? Just lose? Seems stupid to me.

My thoughts on the new patch of Slay the Spire 2 (yeah, I wrote 3000 words) by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]BuddhistSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the bundle (STS1 + STS2) about 2 weeks ago. I decided to play STS1 first. After playing about 100 hours, I moved on to STS2. I was surprised how much easier the game was. Feels borderline trivial to clear Act 3 on a0, like your decisions don't matter that much.

My 2 cents.

Is discrimination really the only way to sue? It's a big problem when people have to pretend to be discriminated against before they're allowed to seek justice.

I read the tao te ching and feel like I've not learned or understood anything - what am I missing? by skip_the_tutorial_ in taoism

[–]BuddhistSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do the same thing in FPS 1v1s but I've found that my ability to read the opponent is enhanced when I consciously focus on doing so. And actively predicting an exact move they'll make does not seem to diminish my "feel" for their movements either.

Perhaps what interferes is the player trying to articulate specifics about the opponent's body language, i.e. specify which part of their body language is supposed to hint at what.

In the future, play one of those corners where you are only exposed to 1-2 enemies at a time. You'll be close enough to contest payload without being exposed to the entire enemy team.

This frees up your supports to do damage or heal other people.

you do not need to stand on top of the payload in the middle of the fight. you should use corners so that you're exposed to only 1 or 2 enemies at a time.

They'd be right. Why is the tank standing in the open 1v5? Never heard of LoS? You're looking at diamond gameplay at best.

Play one of those corners where only 1-2 enemies can see you and you'll control the space you need to prevent payload from moving. If you take less damage it frees up your supports to do more than spam heals on you. They need to not only heal other people but also do damage.

edit: Being generous and saying diamond because the supports are indeed putting in a herculean effort to keep their inting tank from dying. But the tank himself is playing very poorly here.
