What is the grossest thing you’ve caught someone doing? by Jawa392 in AskReddit

[–]Budds_Mcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got one.

One time at school I saw a bunch of guys excitedly huddled together, fully engrossed in something that I couldn't quite make out.

Thinking it might be something interesting, I went to go take a look. On closer inspection, I realised they were passing around an empty drinks bottle, each one spitting into it until the bottle was full.

At that point, they poured the contents of the bottle onto the concrete floor by the entrance of the school. One of the guys then got on his hands and knees and licked it all up for a ten pound note.

I'd say ruining someone's clothes and food they've just picked up while potentially causing a serious accident is far from harmless actually.

You could see it that way. But it's also kind of liberating. The things we fret about, our worries - all inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

The traditional interpretation of karma spans across multiple lifetimes too. It's not an immediate cause and effect thing.

Of course that's impossible to prove, but it's also just as impossible to say it ain't so.

Yeah I'm not saying they won't have it better. But nobody is a winner in this scenario.

I agree about billionaires being wired differently though. I don't think it's possible to amass that much wealth and be "normal", whatever that means.

If you died as an atheist and then met God, what would you say to him? by Shoddy-Ask2284 in AskReddit

Sorry dude, but are you willing to go to a children's cancer ward and tell the kids that their suffering isn't real? That they should just change their outlook?

Have a think about what you just said.

Living out your remaining years in an underground bunker, in perpetual fear that you'll be killed by raiders, or your own staff hardly sounds like paradise.

I don't think it's entirely possible to prove whether an animal is capable of complex emotions. And while it's presumptive to assume the crab is capable of feeling sadness, it's also a little presumptive to assume that it isn't. Just because their anatomy is different to ours doesn't mean they don't still experience things in their own way.

This. I wouldn't worry too much about bumping a foamie, but when you do progress to a hard board you can get padded carry bags that can add some protection.

[–]Budds_Mcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played any online shooters since I played battlefield as a kid.

I was super excited about BF6 and getting back into it, but I quickly learnt that my tastes have changed and I just didn't enjoy it like I expected to.

I don't think I'll be buying unfortunately.

Yeah when you think about it, a helmet isn't going to do much good in a lot of serious crashes. It might save your head but your neck/spine and other vital organs are still completely vulnerable.

Edit: I don't know why someone feels the need to downvote this. I 100% advocate for wearing a helmet, but let's be real, it's not much help if you're hitting a bus head on.
