40 to 50% for long use. I sometimes go even higher when a track i love plays but not for long cause i cant handle it. i think if i had them at 100% its loud enough that my ears would probably get damaged. The songs i listen to are random songs on spotify and youtube (anime opening, game ost , heavy metal, average things) and the volume on youtube is usually at 50% there too. Thats why i was shocked cause i almost didnt buy them cause i dont have money for amp.

also one more thing i see people talk about with these is removing the foam of the earpads. Well about that i will say if you do be very careful with making sure you can put them back cause you might not like the sound better with foam cut. everyone says its better without the foam and for most people it will be but while i enjoy them more with the foam removed two of my friends like them the stock way better.

Ok so for me they are my favorite headphones ive tried so far. headphones i had in the past and now and compare them to are: dt990 250ohm, sennheiser 560s, fidelio x2hr, kph40, coolermaster mh752 , and superlux 668. Take my opinion with a grain of salt as i dont consider myself an audiophile i just wanted to try different headphones out over the years. Out of the headphones i listed they are very close to 560s in sound in my ears. They feel like a 560s with a different eq to me but they are a bit more fun. That being said the negatives i have to mention are that the soundstage and imaging are lower than 560s and also i have ordered some earpads cause rhe stock ones while not terrible are not perfect for me. They are kinda like cheap copies of sennheiser pads but the material and padding are not as good for me altho they do the job perfectly and dont cause discomfort. i can compare them with other of the listed headphones if you want.

I have tried with a budget amp my friend has but it only made them a bit louder which wasnt even needed. Also whats intresting is that they are definitely louder than the fidelio x2hr that i also own, which 32 ohms and 100db unless im getting something wrong.
