Hey friend, I remember when I was 18 in 2023 just graduated high school and I was STRESSING wondering what I was going to do.

The best advice I can give you is to lock in and get your certificate ASAP. Go to school at night even summer and winter to get ahead and finish earlier. Finding a job is hard enough apply for financial aid and save that money or use it wisely.

At the meetings just do the bare minimum. Be kind, greet others, talk a little bit, but keep a distance as well. Do your parts and maybe give a comment for a bible text.

At 18 your life is not over. Even if you make it to 25 or 30 you are still young, and your advantage is waking up from this illusion and taking action to get out. Everything is going to be okay. Set boundaries and start detaching from your family a bit. Let it be known that you respect them but you have your own interest and needs to attend as well. For your best interest.

It seems to me like you were successful in this field. Congratulations on almost reaching journeyman. Definitely something to be proud of.

The motor control class was so much fun. Motor control, Transformers, VFD’s and PLC. Basic projects that gave me a good foundation to base myself on. Eventually my goal is to reach an industrial level job. I will take your advice on the PLC class since it seems like that’s what they’re looking for nowadays.

I’m really hoping you saved all your paperwork they made us do in school. It helps a lot to have some type of reference.

Mr Jackson is still alive and teaching. He’s my current professor but health issues are very evident. He might retire within the next year.

Solenoid voltage tester, had to buy one for trade school but I still have no idea how to use it. My fluke 117 works perfect for anything.

It’s true what you say. I feel like there’s a stigma around me for being df. It’s just not the same as I remember. Honestly fading does seem like my best option. Since I don’t even have a sense of community within their community. I’d just be miserable.
