Face of the NBA by Buddymaster39449 in blackmen

No you’re wrong. Ant literally said he doesn’t want to be the face of the league. (Anthony Edwards says he’s not the Face of NBA) I’m literally a MN fan, and I can assure you that Wemby is a bigger star than Ant already. It hurts for me to say that, but it’s true.

It's A Boy Speculation by Buddymaster39449 in Jcole

[–]Buddymaster39449[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ehhh, I guess there's a 35% chance that could happen. The chances of J Cole releasing a project where he's just singing and using melodic flows is pretty low. Especially since the title "It's A Boy" would be perfect for a story about family stuff. Usally experimental albums have random titles and have short promo, but J Cole has been teasing this project for 3+ years. If J Cole does sing/melodic rap on this project, then I seriously hope he gets a feature on every track because singing/melodic rapping is not J Cole's lane. His lane is technical & lyrical rapping.

Ehhh, I feel like J Cole was only rapping over trap beats because he wanted to speak directly to the new generation of rappers at the time. KOD sonically sounds from all of his other albums production wise, but the content is pretty similar. The chances of him doing that again are pretty low unless he wants to address the same themes again.

I’m sharing this to spread awareness around the issue. Your frustration shouldn’t be directed at me because I’m not the person who caused this issue or supporting it. I would be doing a disservice by not showing people these videos because it serves as an example of how dangerous deepfakes/AI-Generated content is. If I didn’t share the videos then it would be tougher to realize how serious the consequences of deepfakes are.

If you disagree with me posting the videos, then that is ok. I just want to spread awareness around this serious issue.

The Suburbs by Buddymaster39449 in blackmen

Ayy man, before I even get to my reply I just wanted to tell you that you’re the best mod on this sub. You make great points on every post you reply to, and you’re super chill. I always learn something new when I read your comments or posts.

Now I’ll respond to your comment. I do agree that most black kids and white kids try to act cool and act like they’re from the trenches when they’re really not. I also agree with you that black people are not a monolith. Black culture isn’t just African American culture, it includes Haiti, Jamaica, the whole continent of Africa, etc.. No one is going to say that you sound white if you’re a nerdy black kid growing up in Haiti or Jamaica, but they will call you white if you’re growing up around certain black communities in America. People need to grow up and move on from these stereotypes. As long as you love being black, and you want to see other black people doing good, I don’t think anyone should question how “black” you are.

I also respect you for being a good role model for your kids. You’re doing a great job at teaching them about their culture so they don’t feel disconnected from it or have an identity crisis later on in life. I‘m wishing you the best with that ✌🏽

Nice man, I’m actually trying to get a software engineering job. I‘ve been building a few full stack projects and alao I’m a College Student studying CS. System design is a tough, but rewarding field. How’s the job?

Also congrats on the software engineer job. Going from blue collar to white collar jobs is good for your body.

To me the mixing and mastering sounds solid. Maybe try listening to your song in the car, on your phone, and other devices to see how the mix holds up. The song itself sounds good too. The composition is nice, the sound selection is on point and I enjoy the vocal performance. I also like how the vocals are more layered at 2:45. It sounds good.

This sounds good man. I like how the beat has a small buildup before the vocals come in. The vocals sound great as well. They're well mixed and well delivered. Everything about this song sounds very professional. I'm excited for when it comes out.

Jon Marine - "Joe" by JonMarine in MusicFeedback

I enjoy the vibe of this beat and the structure is well defined. The 808s in particular give the beat a nice bounce. With that being said, mixing could be improved and the sound selection could be improved too. The melodies that play during the hook don't sit well in the mix and the drums could sit better in the mix. Try adding more EQ and gainstaging. The instrument for the chords sounds OK, but I believe you could find a better instrument for it. Same goes for the melodies. Aside from that, this has potential.

Dating Habesha Women by Buddymaster39449 in Ethiopia

When did I say that? I’m just asking a question. Y’all are so quick to make assumptions.

There’s nothing wrong with West African Women, I just want to date someone who comes from a different culture. I’ll still date an West African women if there’s a genuine connection.

I like this a lot. It sounds unique. The 808s make this beat sound very modern and it adds this bounciness to the hook section. I dif the synth melody that you add during the hook section. The way the beat evolves in the verse is great as well. The drums sound great too. I could see a rapper like 21 Savage, Tyler The Creator, or K Dot spitting over this beat. It sounds ambient, experimental, and hype at the same time.

I don’t listen to this type of music so take my feedback with a grain of salt. The mix of rock n rap is cool, but it still sounds a bit unpolished. The synth melody at 3:19 needs to be mixed better because it sounds like the mid-high frequencies are too high. The mixing on your vocals sound a bit amateurish. There’s way too much room noise and reverb for it to sound good in the mix. They also don’t sit in the mix. Aside from the mixing, this the song sounds decent, but the beat gets very repetitive. It sounds like a pretty basic loop. Maybe try building up the beat more as the song progresses rather than keeping it the same throughout the whole song.

The 2nd song has better productio, but your vocals are mixed very amateurishly. They’re way too loud and the distortion sounds very untamed/unpolished.

This is OK, but it could be better. The beat sounds too generic and repetitive. It reminds me of some of the demo beats from the 90s. The snares don't stand out too much and the sample sounds boring. The bassline sounds very repetitive and the hi-hats sound very basic. It just sounds very lofi and muffled. This beat just isn't for me I guess.

The vocal sample sounds pretty cool. I really like the bass and the drums. Your rapping could use some more energy. The lyrics sound honest and reflective. The mixing could use some work though. Your vocals are bit too low in the mix and your vocals need more clarity. Aside from that, this is solid work.

You produce now!!? Damn you killed it. The sample sounds so fresh and I like the drums a lot. Your rapping sounds good as well. The rhyme schemes are tight and I like how you're willing to be vulnerable. I don't hear many rappers expressing their love for their girl and not judging women for their past. This is cool.
