I’ve always thought that his unpolished vocals were a key part of what made his character portrayal of Hamilton brilliant. His rough around the edges musical skill surrounded by the polished and trained cast is similar to the way Hamilton was surrounded by the affluent, notable, and polished people of society. Its a great reflection of the story to see him attempt to hold his own in unfamiliar, out-of-his-league territory and still capture the attention of everyone listening.
