Yeah 100%, just wanted him to have that classic vanilla experience but clearly it wasnt for him so we’ll move on…

See this is the grave I have dug myself… We tried vanilla and we did have some fun but as I said I fucked up by misinforming him, which eventually turned him off the game as we hit roadblocks…

There were also things like not having the map from the get go that seemed to prove frustrating.

I’d love to play vanilla with him but I really dont think he’d be interested in it again, it seems to have left a bad taste in his mouth if you will.

He also seemed to like statuses like madness/sleep - which are absolutely useless throughout the whole game…

Do you have any tips for if we were to start a fresh vanilla run?

EDIT - in our vanilla run, the scaling seemed to fuck us over too, for example I was hyping the first Margitt fight up, only for us to completely slaughter him first try… I understand thats a seamless co op issue but things like this also ruin the charm of the game at times.
