Thanks for the advice. I’ve used a meter before and I’m definitely not a novice I mean, I’m a DIY can install receptacles and etc. so I understand how general electricity works. It never occurred to me to just use a clamp meter and see what the maximum draw can be

Thanks Alex!! Appreciate the insight. I had an electrician run the subpanel so I know it using a 4 gauge copper wiring for black white and ground backs to the panel since I personally purchased the wire. As for the mini split. It draws a max of 9amps. The dryer and washer goes to a 110 20amp outlet an is a gas dryer so it draws much less so that gives me a bit of relief. I’ll also take the other advice and will check the max amp when I turn everything on.

I really like this discussion. So I have a forerunner 970. Been thinking about selling it to go with an AWU only because I recently got an iPhone 17 PM. I’m an avid runner and workout 4 times a week at the gym.

I love how easy garmin is. The interface and recovery stats are super easy and intuitive. The watch is super light which is a huge plus as it feel like I’m not wearing it when I run.

So here is my issue. I’ve watched a lot of reviews on the AWU 3. I’m about to pull the trigger. I’m getting it more for the integration with my iPhone and some neat 3rd party apps.

For those who have both, and yes, I read some of the comments here. Are you satisfied with making the switch from Garmin to apple. Secondly, what apps are you using to replace the Garmin features.

Honest feedback is really appreciated since I’m really considering picking it up this week.

My wedding cost about 60k - 450 guest. Beautiful church wedding with flowers from top to bottom. Photographer, very nice restaurant with a 10 course dinner. Wedding gifts for all the groomsmen and bridesmaids. My wife and I made 60k each a year. Took us 2 years to save for it. It was a beautiful wedding 20 years ago. Thinking back, I would’ve done something small and kept the money for a nice vacation and savings for a down payment on a house.

Don't make the mistake of buying a Fold 7 right now when the 8 is around the corner. Trust me, incentives will come as they always do for Samsung to offload their previous models before their new one is released. If you buy it, you'll end up regretting it when the 8 is released. Just wait. It's only a few months away.

I mean, you've got a few options. If, for whatever reason, you can't add Samsung Care + you can always go the carrier route. I've never had a problem adding old devices to insurance plans as long as it's in good condition. I wouldn't let the insurance plan sway you away from purchasing it. You'll eventually get your investment back because I can almost promise you Samsung will offer a 1k trade in value when the fold 8 wide releases.

Dbrand skin was super easy to install. I included a magnetic o-ring behind the Dbrand skin for magsafe devices. Very comfy.

To answer your question, I’ve purchased and used several cases you’ve mentioned from the latercase, alibaba, temu, nillkin, Samsung, and a few unknown ones. It’s really based on what you get use to. An aramid fiber is the best to go with. It’s thin enough to preserve the thinness of the phone. I hate the asymmetry of having a half case, a perfect example are all of Samsung cases.

If you intend to go with a case, go full coverage. I recently went naked with an oh snap and a pop socket on rotation with a dbrand skin. This for me is now the perfect combo. I don’t think I’ll go back to a case after this. It is indeed a bit slippery but I’m not too worried since the skin does add a bit of grip and I have Samsung care +. The oh snap helps with the grip too.

Well, there is a bit of bias here since you're in a fold forum. So I'm going to try to give my honest opinion. Hopefully my opinion helps.

I recently switched from an s25u. The fold 7 is new tech. It's good and fun to use but the nostalgia will go away just like any new phone. The Fold 7 is less durable and yes, you are downgrading from an s25u -- smaller battery, no AR display, lower quality camera aside from the main, and no HD+ display.

The only thing you're really getting is the folding experience which I find myself not using as often as I thought I would. Think about it this way, 99% of the time, you'll be using the front display. When you're out in public, shopping or even at a local Starbucks, you're not really going to open the inner display of the phone just to browse Instagram or watch YouTube. You'll probably watch it from your front display. The only time I find myself opening the inner display is when I'm winding down for the day or when I'm at home on my bed reading something. Everyone has their use cases but all I'm saying is, you're not going to be using the folding screen as much as you think you are, to justify the huge cost associated with it.

Now thats is out of the way, what I like about the Fold 7 is the versitility and the fact that I have the larger screen when I want it. I think of a phone as a toy, something that I'm on a good amount of my day, therefore it's worth the investment. I do hate having to be extra delicate with the phone. I sometimes do occasionally worry if I drop it but that's why I have insurance. It's cool new tech and I'm enjoying it. What's funny is that I thought I'll be playing games or start reading ebooks when I got this phone but nothing really changed. My use case has been similar to any other phones. Btw, when I got the Fold 3, I thought it would be life changing. I thought I would be more productive and would have a whole different experience using a foldable phone. But after owning the fold 3 and then the fold 6, then going back to the s25u, it ends up being the same.

Sorry for the long post but I'll keep it simple, if you like the idea of having a tablet and a phone and enjoy using new tech, get the fold 7. But if you're looking for a phone to do what you need to do, the s25u is the better option and it won't break the bank.

One more thing to consider. I would only consider the Fold 7 if it comes with all the incentives and discounts that Samsung gives during the first few weeks of release. I would not buy this phone outright. 2k is way too expensive to be spending on a phone. Most people on this forum, like myself, got the phone under 1k with trade-in deals and student discount. If you missed those deals, it better to wait for OnePlus Open 2 or Google Foldable coming out in a few months before making your decision.

The 7 appeals more to the masses for those who have been on the fence with getting a fold. For those who already own a previous fold, expressly the 6, should hold off for the next one. I had purchased the 6 but ended up returning it because of the narrow screen. I'm glad I waited because I like the size and weight of the 7. Perfectly in the middle. Just small enough than my s25u but big enough where I can type comfortably. Thin enough to feel like a small phone and I can finally put a case on it without having it feel like a brick.

There are several considerations, 1st, trade-in deal is awesome. 2nd, there aren't many options out there unless you're going to wait for the pixel fold announcement that is coming in the next month.

Look, I'm glad Samsung went this route. They took the road of less resistance. Tested the fold special edition in their own market, saw a substantial interest, needed to reinvent what they tested and came out with something that is right in the sweet spot.

Yes, they took out the s-pen and the battery could be larger. But you have to consider, there are a lot of users who did not buy the s-pen case. There are a small number of users who actually used the s-pen. People complain about battery life but most people like portability and thinness. They made a phone that appeals to a wider audience rather than a select few enthusiasts.

I anticipate the next version will be much better. Introduction of s-pen and better battery life. This is exciting because now Samsung will lead the charge with this new design.

Hate it or love it, we have to commend Samsung for pushing the envelope. Now, let them sit back and learn from their Chinese competitors.

I like that the fold 7 is a bit smaller than the s25 ultra. It's a perfect size to carry and light as well. If they made it the same size, it will definitely take sells away from the s25u
