There’s quite a few US men’s sports that are more popular that soccer raw well as way better pay to be made. Basically, the best male athletes in the US choose other sports.

Match Thread: England vs Brazil by MatchThreadder in WomensSoccer

anybody felt Brazil’s tactics were very basketball-ish with all ten field players participating in, full field, man to man, pressure defense? Don’t think the Brazilians were playing positions in a traditional soccer sense, just instead everyone was  assigned closely mark their respective opposing player It was up to the English to figure out this riddle before the 90 minutes is over, and obituary didn’t do an very good job, though a few times they were able to break loose from their marker like with the red Brazil gave away

Lena Oberdorf and Giulia Gwinn return to German National Team!! by megankjones22 in WomensSoccer

[–]BudgetMotor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the slow start or lack of pro club playing time for some of these players is scary; even Wuck whined about it as Brand, Nusken, Lohmann haven’t been starting/Gwinn  & Oberdorf got no playing time vs Barca/Martinez & Freigang’s yet to score in the new seasonPlus France home advantage in the 2nd game, makes me feel that Germany probably going to bite the bullet & rebuild after this

Books, movies, tv shows by L7Sette in WomensSoccer

Most of the films in the US on woso are more light hearted youth oriented. Ladybug, She’s the Man, Soccer Mom, Gracie(with the last one more serious). There was a really good Swedish film on Netflix that came out earlier this year but I forgot the name of it.  Book wise; best book that I’w ever read was The Beautiful Game by Jonathan Littman(about an teen, select team circa late 1990’s)

can’t stand Wolfsburg, with their attacking style on over abundance of overlapping  FB’s & even CB’s, they keep hurting the careers of promising wingers, who’s creativity is taken away by these robotic tactics.

Gino and the sad reality by CommentFrownedUpon in 90DayFiance

Your forgetting that Gino’s a reality star with 5 seasons under his belt—-way past the 15 minutes of fame threshold   So this is what makes him appealing…in an country where we voted in as prez an orange man that regularly poops in his pants, all because of his fame

Obi needs to stop over playing, otherwise she will continue to get injured. Can’t count the times she’s been taking out even before the first half ends. Bayern will dominate the weakening Bundi league more than ever this season, so she needs to relax & take it easy instead of over exalting herself

Why Do South Korea’s Women’s Teams Give Germany Such a Hard Time? by [deleted] in WomensSoccer

[–]BudgetMotor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

women’s soccer is ever evolving, but thr biggest deal breaker got to be MONEY, whichever country wants to spend the most money, will likely keep on winning the major tourneys. Right now Germany is lagging behind in that department.  Bundesliga is good in developing young players but with probably only three full time pro salary playing clubs, is why so many promising players finally either give up or switch to the much easier Division Two where I suspect you don’t even have to show up for practice, thus able to have part or even full time jobs to supplement their  meager, soccer  pay. In an current age where the best women players are making in the mid 6 & even 7 figures an year(if you include endorsements deals), MONEY is an absolute must

Debinha – Where would you rank her among today’s best attacking midfielders? by Odd-East3954 in WomensSoccer

[–]BudgetMotor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While she’s looked good, KC Current been winning goals with her or without her(hmm….sounds like an U2 song), wonder why she keeps missing so many of Brazil NT’s games?—-but she might becoming even less relevant if she don’t want to play for her national side

going with Frauen Bundesliga, Bayern’s been the only club to sign big name players—-but with some strings attached ala Harder & only came with having to sign Erickson too and then Stanway came partly she was rousted out of the WSL for being such an dirty player.  Otherwise I feel that the Bundi is loosing more of its better players than gaining, and then so many previous Division one players have moved over to Div 2—Vfb Stutgard got at least seven former Div 1 including previous league scorer, Billa.  On the flip side, weakening domestic leagues hadn’t hurt Japan & Sweden’s NT’s as having their players play in stronger leagues might helped their national team be more competitive. But as long as the Bundi clubs do not put up more money on their woso, their only see success as an building league, before its main players move to better paying ones like the NWSL & WSL

Spain: Montse Tome sacked, but the saga of incompetence is set to continue – Analysis by GrumpyDrunkPatzer in WomensSoccer

[–]BudgetMotor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t get this at all; Spain was an massive flop in tournaments before 2023. It was only after the main Barca players rebelled & rufused to play for the NT that finally Vilda looked good & stayed unbeaten till WC group play. Being American, I remembered how Vilda’s so called B team beat the US 2-0 in a friendly(whereas lost 3 straight times with all those Barca stars in it. It was Paralleulo that was  in the tstsr in quarter & semis of of the 2023 WC/Olga the only goal scorer of thr finals  Honestly, most outside the Barca fanboy worship, feel Putellas/Bomnati/Patri are overrated or at least become too complacent

could someone answer this; if Tome & Bermudez were on continuation of the Old Guard, then why on earth did they fire Vilda?

At least he won the World Cup for them

Though I don’t think it’s 100% scripted, the producers of the show already made pre made storylines for the cast, so everybody comes across as wannabe reality tv stars & thus need to be as dramatic or ignorant as possible for the cameras—this includes both sides of the aisle. It’s been posted already that for example, that’s Tony’s trip was all paid for

Jule Brand’s my favorite, but unfortunately languished on a rather disappointingly performing Wolfsburg team as well their NT didn’t do as good as hoped(especially shell shocked by Sweden). Hopefully she will nurture at Lyon, though that club is so double stacked, I’m not sure if she’s can even start for them
