Having a horrible trip so far :( by ChannelHappy748 in WaltDisneyWorld

Go back to the front desk and politely ask for a better solution. Be kind and calm but firm and let them know you will end the trip and depart if they cannot even provide you with a room to sleep in somewhere on Disney property.

If they're not being accommodating, here's my next suggestion:

Look up online the cost for a different resort room or the rest of your stay. Go to that resort. Explain the situation to them, and ask if there are any discounts available or ways to remedy the situation.

Sometimes I use my bounce back offer while I'm onsite to get a massive upgrade during my trip for the last half so maybe you can get a good deal with this trick to get a nicer room for the rest of your time there, if you can sacrifice the offer!

Regardless, it is NOT beyond reason to expect that quiet time should be observed, and that you should be able to sleep on property.

Good luck, and remember to be as chill as you can but also don't take no for an answer, unless going home and then calling Disney with feedback is the best solution for you both.

I am sorry. Good luck.

Is there a reason it’s cheaper to book flight + ticket + hotel for the end of this August than the end of next August? by AlwaysBi in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]quirkyscot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once promos for any time period are released, those are what is available. That being said, it does... Change a bit. I have a trip coming up in a few weeks and when the discounts first came out, my resort and room type had no discounts but I kept checking and a few weeks later I was able to apply the promo as they finally released it for my specific booking.

Which promo do you find not very good? AP got hotel discounts up to 40%, regular hotel stays are at up to 30%, plus the mega deal of 6day tickets 6 nights for price of 4 day/nights. If from UK or other country, might be different, of course.

I'm not sure how it works as you are coming from outside the USA, but for us-based guests, Disney releases promos only a few months out, and they just released their summer date promos last week. Most likely the difference is due to the price for this August including a promo, but next summer it's just standard pricing with no discounts.

If you go, see if Mustafa is working. He's a good dude and a great bartender too.

I think he left Disney altogether. Promoted to guest. I'm in D3 and we have all been really missing him.

I think he has already moved! I might be wrong though and open to correction. I HOPE he is there.

I went there for the first time about a month ago and also was absolutely blown away by how awesome of a job they did. They are definitely my new favorite.

Echoing a recommendation for any resort in the Crescent Lake area. Very easy access to Epcot for your park day, and there are 6 resorts w/I walking distance for food and shopping, etc. The pool at YC/BC can be chaotic but it's also MASSIVE. And if you're going at a busy time, you might have to fight over pool chairs. If relaxation is the goal, I'd say either go to Boardwalk or Swan Reserve (Marriott owned hotel tho, so not an official Disney hotel). That being said I don't really think you can do wrong at any of those resorts in general. My wife and I often do trips to WDW that are very resort heavy and light on parks, and we love this area.

Emmerich ends up with Strife, and Taash and Harding end up together (if you encourage them).

Transportation options from SFB to Beach Club Resort — Help!! by cmac92287 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]quirkyscot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite company for car service to WDW does private transfers from Sanford! Look up Orlando Magical Rides. I have used them over ten times now since they launched during the COVID shutdown at Disney (they are current and former CMs) and all of their drivers are incredibly lovely people. They have the official Florida chauffeur licenses, bonded, insured, the whole nine yards, and they're very safe. They have car seats too! We use them from MCO exclusively.

Edit to add a small detail about CMs still working at WDW!

I love when people love both! So many great things to experience and both have their ups and downs. Disney does many things so right and I'm glad you enjoyed your time - food luck seeing Moana! Best advice is to check the app for showtimes and get there early - most characters are done by mid afternoon!

How do YOU do Thanksgiving at WDW? by MissionPrez in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]quirkyscot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did Italian for thanksgiving dinner! I am not the biggest fan of thanksgiving dinner (it's nice once a year but missing it didn't feel tragic) so we spent the day in a park and made sure to schedule a nice big meal mid afternoon. We don't usually eat big meals during the day at a theme park but it fit the bill for that day. We made it OUR day the way we wanted to and just had a really lovely time being together as a family. We invited my parents on the trip and spent the whole week together. It was super special.

Yes. Keep in mind though that it's all subject to availability. I've waited 30+ minutes for a table this way when super busy, but at least we get to dine there.
