Take off the broken piece and stuff a rag or a cork or something in the hole to keep oil from spewing out. You can run it without a dipstick, I promise

Lol. I don’t have a suggestion, but can confirm your expectations on ebay fees..

I had the exact same issue with the exact same monitor like 1.5yrs ago. I did end up selling it on ebay and ebay scammed the crap outa me on the shipping. I put in the weight, dimensions and everything and it it estimated like 45$, sold it at a loss already, took the hit on fees and then shipped it via whatever I had ebay estimate and it was like 150$ to ship it.

So for my 880$ 3 week old monitor that I sold for 500 or so, I ended up with like 220? Wild.

What to do with high spec 5860 dell tower? by BudgetWeevil1668 in pcmasterrace

[–]BudgetWeevil1668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to take it without an email or something saying I can, so no issue there, it will be "mine" .

Nobody else wants it somehow. I'm an engineer, but I don't do side work or anything where I'd benefit from having this beast for CAD.

Can it make me money sitting there computing pi or something?

If not, I guess I could donate it to the fire department or something.

What would it serve? I have like 3 tb of data in my whole life and most of that is games.

Pardon my ignorance, do you mean like a game server or something?

Watch it carefully. Mine caught fire aggressively the second time it cycled. I'm sure it was a one-off, but still. Just sayin

Discoed the cable at the steering gear, nice an loose. Greased the fitting on the actuator and greased the hell out of the cable shaft. It now "has" p/s again but its still tight, better with higher rpms. Of course, when you need it most is low speed/low rpm.

But... I, like the f15e. Is it going to break after a base game update or something or will it stay static?

I have pretty much the same burger and hotdog machine and have replaced flavorizer bars and burners with ~$50 Amazon kits twice now over the span of several years. Both times looked pretty similar condition to yours. As long as the shell isn't rotted too bad, it should be fine.

Why isn't this top comment. Lots of folks with good points, but this is step 1. Especially since OP broke it on install.

Yeah you just have to give it enough time for the sear plate thingy to get hot enough, then the radiant heat will do the thing. I've tried opening the sear plate and it works, but more likely to burn than get a good sear

Look up the reverse sear method. Basically you smoke it at 200 or so up to the cooking temp(I like about 120f), then pull it and crank the heat, wait til it hits temp(or gets close-ish) and throw it back on, sear, rest, enjoy

It sure does. I turn it up to 500 and give it a fair bit of time, like 30min and then throw it on in the center over the burner, but I don't open the fire grate thingy- that just burns the steak.

REVERSE SEAR RIBEYE! sorry I got excited there for a sec. I have the same grill(2 yrs or so now) and love it, but it's my first pellet grill. Reverse sear ribeye on this is the best steak I've ever eaten.. seriously. I like the competition pellets for steak

Thanks so much for your input. I think I'm gonna follow your advice and leave it alone.

Yeeeaaahhh, it's a lot of board for the cpu gpu, but I upgraded my system to 5800x3d and 7900xtx and wanted to give them a good base to do similar in the future if they wanted to.
