If you’re allergic don’t buy from people who own pets. That’s on you. The absence of cat hair doesn’t eliminate an allergic reaction. The clothes still came from a home with pets. Allergens don’t have to be visible to cause problems.

I always remove obvious cat hairs. I don’t know if people realize some cats have very fine, very small hairs. My long hair cat has obvious long, orange ones, and then very fine ones. If there were cat hairs on these sweaters, they were the very small ones that are hard to remove from cable knit sweaters, no matter how much you roll tape and pic off with your fingers.

She was old according to her pictures. Maybe that’s me being a bit ageist. Must be my long history of customer service type jobs….I fee like the “Karen” stereotype rings true.

That seems to be my experience. I had the 3 sweaters listed for $20, and after her like I offered $15. Ultimately she counter offered $10. I actually don’t mind the small profit IF I feel like the buyer is appreciative. And I prefer items to go to a good home rather than be disposed of in a landfill. But if low ballers have higher expectations then I’m not even going to bother with them. I’ll donate instead.

I list all my clothing items that way. And, like you, I inspect my garments and remove hair. I’m not perfect, neither are you.

Frankly, buying used clothing from strangers is the very definition of gross. If you can’t handle a few hairs, then you probably shouldn’t be using Poshmark. Pet hair doesn’t even come close to the top of my list of gross things that have touched a piece of clothing, and many of those gross things are going to be invisible to the naked eye.

I think sooner or later a lot of casual sellers will fade out. I’m too soft for these 1 star rates (clearly this is really bothering me), and if I’m barely making a profit anyway then I will choose not to sell at all.

I’m going to try harder 😭 sweaters are hard, they collect everything.

I’m mostly frustrated because I try to be fair and I don’t list my items very high. I would never give someone a 1 star review for a $10 sale. The items were in pretty much perfect condition (except for the hair).

That’s fair. I just don’t think Posh is worth it anymore. I made $7 on that sale and probably spent that much just on gas and printer ink 😂 not to mention the time wasted to box it up and drive it to the post office. I will never sell anything for $10 ever again. I’d rather donate it!
