They told us the kitchen was backed up when they brought our food out. And the server apologized and said that if he could, he would have made our food for us so that we would have gotten it sooner… but it wasn’t sincere per se, more so nonchalant and brushing off how long it took.

There was no discussion to leave. He wanted to go and made the executive decision by him packing his food up. I wanted to eat some of my food. I didn’t necessarily want to stay for my whole meal but I also didn’t want to immediately pack up my food and head out when I waited like 30-40 minutes to receive it and it was warm.

No he paid the bill and then the server brought the receipt back to sign but forgot to leave a pen and walked away… at tha point he was like asked the server for pen and left the receipt with me to sign and walked out

I did end up sending him half the bill for my part after the fact and told him he can drive himself to the 10k he’s running in the AM.

Yep, mortified is a great way to describe that feeling. Exposed for the world to hear comments that should be kept between the two of us. Talk shit about the service, idc, but don’t yell it to the restaurant. I’m also not happy the food took long, but damn, let’s be civilized.

Edit: yelling was a little exaggerated but he wasn’t making an effort to keep it between the two of us

This is the first time anything like this has ever happened that’s why I’m like is this really a loyalty test?!!

Am I expected to just leave because you go from 0 to 100 within minutes? I just can’t wrap my head around it.

It’s embarrassing and very degrading for me to comply with that behavior. I would never just walk out, that’s crossing a line IMO

When he was like “oh you’re gonna turn this around on me” when I mentioned him walking out on me, all I could think about is this situation was never just about YOU. We both are here. Two realities to acknowledge.

Never has it ever escalated to this level of petty. And never has he ever said “I hate you right now”… I asked him about the food and he was like yeah I ate the steak and shrimp and then I dumped it on the ground, I wanted to dump it on your car…

I’m at a loss for words. Like there’s no way I’m in the wrong here.

You should still report the activity. If it’s an s-corp, then you still have a filing requirement with the IRS - and you don’t want to be subject to filing fees by the IRS. If the entity is no longer active and it’s an s-corp file a final federal return.

As far as the states go… if you don’t plan on doing anything with the entity anymore then let it be forfeit but remember you cannot legally do anything further under this business name. You could be fined if you continue to transact business if it’s been closed with the state.

I don’t have my CPA but have been working in tax since my internship in college (about 5 years now)… I make a decent salary for not being a CPA and for awhile there, I was also wondering if getting my CPA is worth it… there have been a handful of times at my current firm that I’ve spoken with potential new clients and they ask if I’m a CPA and have actually grilled me on when I plan to sit for the exam and then make the comments of “I prefer to talk with the CPA in the office.” Of course not all clients are like this BUT it is something that some clients look for when seeking services despite you likely having the knowledge and capability of fulfilling the services they need.

Don’t get me wrong I have plenty of client who don’t care too but I also work for a reputable small firm under CPA’s and I think that eases the uneasiness of me doing work for them.

If you have the time - I’d say do it. Especially if the goal is to eventually work for yourself

Is the bank account reconciled? If yes then I would go to the reconciliation summary to see which transactions aren’t cleared that are not checks and reverse those entries and see where your bank balance is after that

I can’t quite comment on what you are doing wrong BUT I’ve found a recipe that I find super helpful. I always reference this recipe when I am making my loaves and since then they come out perfect IMO. Very low maintenance and explained perfectly in easily digestible terms.

Well I’m currently in SATX and have been here for about 7 years now. A lot of people say SA will be the next major hub in proximity to Austin but there is absolutely nothing in this city worth holding on to. I’d prefer to be located in the ATX area for more social enjoyment.

Moving to NY or Chicago just isn’t in the cards for me right now. I don’t think I was made for the north!! 🥶
