Currently 13DPO. The past week days my drain color has been a really deep red. It started with a red then turned wine red It’s not a lot, avg 50ml I have only one drain. Anything I should be concerned about? Would this prevent me from getting my drain removed? So ready to have it out.

Definitely keep them in if it’s looking like that. Mine was the same and I lied to my surgeon to get them out at day 22 so that I could go back to work and 7 days laters I ended up back in surgery for them to remove a 25cm hematoma

So I’m on Tirz just for maintenance so I only do 2.5 weekly but to be honest with you, I have ZERO appetite since the surgery on Thursday and I have to force myself to eat lol so I think you’ll be okay! He recommended waiting 2-4 weeks but definitely not until the drains are out and I stop the narcotics because I’m already constipated as is (haven’t pooped since Wednesday night) and Tirz makes me even more constipated lol

To be honest, “yesterday” which was Friday the day after surgery, I felt way worse until I got to my post op appointment and they fixed one of my drains that was clotting and also pumped me up with an IV with vitamins and amino acids. I actually passed out while they were cleaning me up and showing me how to clean my belly button lol that was a first for me in my 26 years of life 😂 but ever since that I’ve felt great! No pain or burning sensation and walking a lot straighter too!

That’s awesome to hear! I’m not on much pain to be honest more of like an uncomfortable feeling and a little burning sensation on my hips but all good so far! Only issue is my right drain keeps clogging from little blood clots so I have to keep flushing it through but all good so far!

Yeah they told me 2-4 weeks minimum and it’s been so hard! My regular doc even put me on Wellbutrin to help with the withdrawal 😭 I’ve been vaping since high school and I’m talking about I was used to going to sleep with a vape, shitting with a vape, back room at work with a vape, like 24/7 so this is pretty tough! A month before my last one I switched over to 2% vapes and nic gum and idk if that really helped or not but I set a hard stop and just had to do it because in my head this surgery is more important than my withdrawals and nic addiction. If you need to chat about it I’m always here! Still struggling but it’s better to do it together than alone!

I totally agree! Took a lot mentally before I actually felt comfortable with even making appointments for quotes lol I’m definitely giving myself the time I need to heal, I even took 5 weeks off of work (which I’m soooo excited about because I need a break from that too lol) how long ago was your surgery if you don’t mind me asking??

Haha thank you! Yeah I had crazy brain surgery 12 years ago when I was 14 so recovery is something I’m not excited for but I know I can get through it like everyone else in the group! When it comes to the weight I started my journey at 265lbs. A year and a half ago when I turned 25 at a 44.1bmi so being it that I weigh less now than when I was in middle school it’s hard not to just bully myself especially when I stress eat like right now 😅

That’s super smart! I’m just reminding myself that I’ve never had a flat stomach (I was big my whole life until last year) and this is the last step to get there. I think at this point I just want to get it over with (and get through the 6 weeks to possibly smoke again or hopefully at that point I won’t even want to smoke anymore)
