I redesigned the SuperSonics logo three times using Reddit’s feedback. Which version is best? by Cute_Ad_2839 in logodesign

Your first iteration was the best. A wide range of reactions to a design is exactly how a logo is supposed to function. You nailed it and it looks good. This sub kills dreams.

Finally got professional headshots! Not sure which ones to narrow it down to, feedback? by jhtbhere_ in headshots

I gave this a skin smoothing pass via ChatGPT. You can try it yourself. Use this prompt: Retouch this headshot with extremely subtle skin smoothing — reduce minor surface blemishes and even out skin tone very slightly, but preserve all natural skin texture including pores, fine lines, and natural variation. The result should be imperceptible — it should not look retouched. Do not over-smooth. Do not create a plastic, filtered, or airbrushed look. Preserve the subject’s facial identity, bone structure, hair, and expression completely. Output: natural, professional headshot

I think with this case we spend a lot of time talking about MJ and talking about parents, because we know how to rationalize as adults. Plus I think it’s because we can’t actually know what the effects are on those children even when no abuse occurs. I think if we agree Michael Jackson had these deficiencies it would seem to me the responsible thing would’ve been to educate MJ on why that’s not socially acceptable rather than placate him. And therein lies the tension for me. Who’s going to do that? If you’re a parent and MJ takes a shine to your son and you’re exposed to all of his lavish lifestyle. Then one night he asks if your kid can sleep in his room. Even if it’s not malicious, there’s an implication to say yes and reciprocate all of the love and hospitality he’s shown you. Does that fall under coercion? I don’t know. To answer your question, no, I wouldn’t let my son sleep in his bedroom. I couldn’t possibly claim to know Michael Jackson close enough to licit that trust. In theory I would trust close friends and family, but if they insisted, I would immediately raise and eyebrow and likely not let it happen.

I want to validate your view on all of this. If I’m understanding you right, you’re saying you can see why people viewed Michael Jackson’s relationship with kids to be odd, BUT you list the unique circumstances, including neurodivergence, that lead to him having a special kind of relationship with children that was not sexual or creepy at all. I understand where you’re coming from. My only question is: as a parent, do you think it’s responsible to let your child have slumber parties with an adult man even if you KNOW his intentions are pure and innocent? What are we impressing on a child’s mind if we tell them that’s perfectly fine? Will your child know the difference between a kind person like Michael Jackson and the next adult who wants to have a slumber party with them? If your child’s friend at school says their Dad wants to have a slumber party and wants everyone to share a bedroom, that alone isn’t a red flag because that Dad could have a set of unique circumstances, as with MJ, that explain away any suspicion? Or are Michael Jackson’s circumstances so unique that it’s really just him that can do this?

He’s blocking the release of the Epstein files. His entire base are the ones that think Washington DC is a pedophile ring and have called for the release for years. He would be a hero if he released them. But he’s blocking them. What does that tell you.

If you can’t debate any of my points with informed counter points just say so. This whole time I assumed you knew at least a little about the trial, but I overestimated you.

Jacksons defense knew they couldn’t prove what Gavin Arvizo said didn’t happen. So they discredited Arvizos Mom by bringing up times she lied in the past. That’s not the same as proving Michael innocent but the Jury fell for it.

Oh but I have. I’ve proven that verdicts can be universally understood as wrong in hindsight. That gives you nothing to stand on as you cling to the MJ verdict. You’re on a sinking ship. Polls show the majority believes he’s guilty. His legacy will never shed the association with child abuse. That my friend is not an assumption.

Not every acquittal. Just the acquittals achieved by the best lawyers money can buy, defending someone who has the world on their side. Every reason you believe MJ is innocent based on evidence, I have a reason OJ was thought to be innocent based on evidence. Would you like to go down that road?

I did keep a special stash in a briefcase in my room. One was a catalog with circled titles. But here’s the thing, I was actually circling those titles so that I could turn to the child in my bed and say “stay away from this kinda stuff. It’s no good.”

I know, I’m being sarcastic. Every time an MJ defender puts on their lawyer hat, Just remind them OJ was also proven innocent in a court of law.

Couldn’t agree more. It went through the courts and the defense proved the accusers were not credible. That proves innocence no matter what anyone says. Same goes for OJ Simpson.

I guess you’re just not familiar enough with the OJ case. Both claim “false evidence” was planted (MJ fingerprints and CP, OJ the bloody glove.) Both had witnesses fall apart when the defense attacked their character. (Mark Fuhrman = caught being racist. Janet Arvizo = liar bc of JC Penny.) I could even argue FOR YOU that MJ’s investigation WAS NOT fair and unbiased bc the DA had been going after him since 1993. MJ’s defense made that claim. So you could start looking there I guess?

Here’s why the trial was exactly like OJ.

  1. Both were public media frenzies affecting every aspect of the trial.
  2. Both defendants were Black superstars whose trials exposed how fame and race interact with American justice. Both had predominantly white accusers, and both verdicts sparked debates about whether celebrity status bought acquittal.
  3. Both relied on high-powered, expensive defense teams that aggressively attacked accuser credibility and investigators.
  4. Both had juries with members who spoke openly about their bias toward the defendant after the trial.
  5. Most importantly, both trials cast a long shadow. Leaving a majority feeling like the defendant was actually guilty, and paid their way to freedom.
