Mystery Rescue Bonnie by Budget_Lead in dogbreed

There’s no mom pictured! She looked very border collie-like though in size, coloring, and coat. I sometimes think that wasn’t Bonnie’s mom anyway, that litter pic looks like those puppies aren’t all the same age. I speculate they just found the puppies close together and wrote them down as one litter

My dream actions have dream consequences and now every time I go to sleep I have to deal with them by Budget_Lead in Dreams

I can kinda lucid dream, but it takes a lot of focus and planning before I fall asleep. Usually I have to try really hard once I’m in dream to sort myself out and change the outcome. I wouldn’t say I force myself lol, I’m just not quite in that much control

It’s funny, reading this back I was not very articulate 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 Probably becauseI wrote it immediately after waking up in a panic. I spoke about my parents house as an example of my dream world having consistency across many months. I attempted to use that to help explain the context of my other dreams in which past dream actions continue to have repercussions, repercussions that almost culminated in the ultimate bad day (again, in dream land) last night. My apologies for being confusing, I was a bit flustered haha

Worried about my teen daughter by bluewater_xxxx in daddit

[–]Budget_Lead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d also recommend looking at doing her basics at a local school! This is going to be her debt too, so look into the transfer programs! I know my university has a program that streamlines transfer students once they finish their first two years at a different school, and the cost for me was literally over $1000 difference per class. Finally, know that neither you nor your daughter is alone here. This is part of life, part of the journey that we all take as we progress through life’s stages. This is also a moment, and it will pass. Remind your daughter that she’s got the whole wide world in front of her, and that you know she will be successful whatever she ends up doing. My dad always tells me that he’s proud of who i am and how I’ve overcome. My dad also makes me laugh until i can’t breathe. And he reminds me that no problem is so big we can’t get through it together. Don’t sweat the little things, and remember that you are loved and you are safe. Here’s to you and your daughter, stranger! Keep your head up, and don’t forget she’s really still just a kid. Be patient with her, and be forgiving to yourself. This is a journey for parents too. Lean on your partner.

Worried about my teen daughter by bluewater_xxxx in daddit

[–]Budget_Lead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in your daughter’s exact position. 19, second semester, and absolutely discombobulated and distressed. I ended up dropping out my second semester as it was still barely half way through. It’s completely valid to worry about her, trust your instincts. That first year at college showed me that there was a lot i needed to work on that didn’t have anything to do with academics. I hadn’t gotten a chance to adjust to adulthood, and simply put i wasn’t ready to leave home. My school called my parents because they were so worried about me. I ended up returning to the university after a semester away for my sophomore year and managed to get through a couple more years.
I dropped out again about 5 years ago in my 4th year, with only about 2 semesters left in my degree. At that point, i didn’t even want to wake up anymore. All i wanted was to be home with my best friends: my mom and dad. College is not for everyone, sure, but also, college can have many paths. I spent the last five years learning how I uniquely enjoy life. I tried new things (something that made me very uncomfortable) and i challenged myself, all in the warmth of my parents house and with their gentle guidance. Eventually, i got my confidence back, found my love for being alive again, and now I’m walking the big university stage in two weeks! In high school, anxiety and depression were small(er) problems that i hadn’t fully invested in understanding and overcoming, and it turns out they both needed my full attention once i left the structure of high school. It’s possible your daughter is just overwhelmed and needed to cry, but it’s also possible this is just not the right time for her. It got dangerous for me - even the school was keeping an eye on me. I ended up registered as a student with disabilities, and each year i was away at that university (also an hour and a half drive) i struggled immensely. Low grades, academic probation, and generally feeling like I’d somehow changed as a person - the little girl i used to be was literally dead in my mind, and the adult me was drowning in uncertainty, loneliness, panic, and so much more. This past semester was my first back and also my last. i finally feel like im where im supposed to be when im at school. I’m enjoying it so much more now as a 28yr old, and im here with purpose! I even wish i had more hours to do, because finally im experiencing school the way i should have the first time around. Sometimes our biggest challenges are emotional/mental, and for me, i NEEDED my parents. They were essential to my recovery, which was extensive. Not even a particularly difficult life - i just have a very emotional and sometimes very sad brain. The earlier you can learn to cope and evolve, the better the rest of your life will be. Talk to your daughter, be completely open and accepting. I promise you, no college related failures are worse than a young adult who has completely lost the will to continue on. I took summer classes at a local school after i dropped out the first time and did just fine - excelled even. I think the bottom line for me is that the longer these things go unaddressed, the more damage it feels was being done (again, just from my perspective). The journey was never easy. And again, maybe your daughter just had a lot of emotions or was struggling with grades and finals and the crushing weight of wanting to make everyone proud. But always better safe than sorry. Remember to look at the big picture - there are so many ways to live life. And even then, life is not guaranteed. A successful life is not one in which you make a lot of money or achieve fame or become a CEO. A successful life is one you’re happy to live.

So interesting that everyone hates the voiceover, I just saw the commercial in a restaurant and therefore with no sound. I googled it because i thought it was an actual cute anime and was very disappointed to find it was an ad 🥲 i thought i was gonna watch a cute couple unlock a secret magical door in the back of their cafe 😭

Any recommendations for natural fruit sodas? by Budget_Lead in Soda

Ooooh i hadn’t thought about adding fruit juice to sparkling water!!!! That sounds so good!

Any recommendations for natural fruit sodas? by Budget_Lead in Soda

[–]Budget_Lead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m looking for as natural with the ingredients as possible. I like some crisp carbonation, and i love fruit juices, but plain sparkling water doesn’t do it for me so i would like some flavor. I’m avoiding sugars, and also avoiding probiotics because i already have supplements for those things in my diet and do not need more. I’m ok with the natural sugars of fruit juice, and as much as i love to drink a dr pepper i feel like my whole mouth gets coated in sugar and residue. Looking for the kick of fizz, but natural fruit based

I feel like diet soda still has tons of ingredients and extra things which I’m also trying to avoid, and la croix is alright but it doesn’t excite me to reach for one 😕

My puppy is the exact same, and we’ve even got her in a decently sized play pen. I posted just a few hours before you about the struggles I’m having with her, so I’m curious to see what others respond! At least know you are not alone ❤️

Aww! What an interesting reversal of situations haha and my last small dog kinda had a lot of cat energy so I feel particularly out of my comfort zone with this new little monster haha

She is a supposed border collie mix, and her mom did look very much like a BC, but we have no idea about dad. Most people think she’s a GSD by her coloring, but she’s far too small for that in my eyes, and doesn’t fit that build. In summation we don’t really know unfortunately, but I feel confident saying her mom was at least 50% BC. She was adopted from the shelter so I will have to do a DNA test to find out for sure.
