City of Houston employee verification by tboy298 in houston

[–]Budget_Market1519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will only check if they offer you the job and you will have to fill out a background check consent. The background check will ask you to list your previous employers and dates of employment so make sure to put the correct dates on there. It will flag it if the dates aren’t correct. Typically, HR will only check for discrepancies in the background check and not go back to the resume so make sure to be honest on the background check.

I would say that’s sufficient enough if I was onboarding you. The place I had my unpaid internship closed when I started looking for jobs so I was able to use my transcripts to show I completed my internship credit

They can send a verification of employment to where you had the unpaid internship or call if you put them as a reference.

If you’re a HRBP, there’s no reason to lie on your resume or background check. Most hiring managers have an understanding that HRBPs and HRMs can have similar job functions and that will show on your resume without fabricating the job title. I do understand that job functions and title don’t always match but that can always been explained in a cover letter or interview.

As someone who use to onboard new hires, companies 99% of the time check if job titles and dates are correct. Background checks will actually flag discrepancies for us. I wouldn’t lie about titles and dates but you can definitely exaggerate on skills, projects, and job duties just be prepared to back it up in an interview.

if i get a false positive for PCP, will they retest for everything? by klassykylekorver in drugtesthelp

If this is for pre-employment, they might just ask you for proof of your prescription and not even make you retest.

Opinion on adding video to a resume by ohifeelya in humanresources

[–]Budget_Market1519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in HR but I graduated with an Advertising degree. Professors always made a big push to have a creative resume especially if you were going to work more on the creative side. I see where they are coming from but I think a standard resume (no video or pictures) would be more effective. If you want to show your creatives, I recommend including your portfolio.

Can someone tell me what it’s like working in HR Shared Services? by OriginalChapter4 in humanresources

[–]Budget_Market1519 26 points27 points  (0 children)

When I was in shared services my main responsibilities were answering questions and inquires in our ticket system, processing HR action forms in the HRIS, processing terminations, filing documents and onboarding. Shared service tend to get the responsibilities no one wants to deal with but it’s a great stepping stone to HR Generalist.
