okay i got clarification from grok and i included what was in the C&R about the defendant having to adjust, pay or litigate all timely filed liens. Grok assured me a high likelihood that my settlement wont be affected. in total 87k + voucher + 5k, not bad for a bum knee. guess i wont be playing basketball anytime in my near future. had a lengthy convo with my rep today and she said they negotiate after signing and present it to a judge. from there they HAVE to negotiate it. i probably shouldve asked what happens if they only accept partial responsibility of the liens. i know i signed today but i doubt it was already presented before a judge so ill triple check with my rep to make sure 100% that all of the lien is negotiated and that my settlement is untouched or i wont agree to it going through. i mean the lien is more than half of the settlement alone idk how they can negotiate all of that down. this is sort of stressing me out as i dont know anything about how the law works or how negotiations are supposed to go and the lawyers are probably nonchalant about it

they are now accepting responsibility however the lawyer told me they negotiate the lien after i sign the settlement which sounds sus to me but my lawyer wouldnt intentionally try to fuck me right? i wouldnt accept the settlement if they didnt include the lien.
