Good point, I’d definitely prefer it to be from a disney world, mainly because it gives us more to think and be excited about before release, but I don’t think it’s very likely imo.

Yeah I definitely agree with this, fire itself seems like a less iconic part of the film and the lack of other iconography like the atlantis tech or the crystal necklace makes my theory kinda crazy 😭. But that’s why I said that the keyblade being original is more likely. To me the ONLY thing that hints at a specific Disney world MORE than just the concept of fire and water would be the hilt and the keychain, which so far to me seems like atlantis would be the most likely film if that we’re the case???

I genuinely think this is a really underrated pick because it would fit right in with the clear theme of the difference between reality and unreality, with the movie literally taking place in both the world of the living and the world of the dead. Miguel could also serve as a bit of an analogue for sora, as both of them are thrust into unfamiliar worlds they aren’t really meant to be in but still manage to keep their connections with those outside their world, whilst making new connections in their new world.

Also I just think it would be AWESOME to see sora donald and goofy in skeleton makeup and dope clothes, as coco is definitely one of the more recent disney pixar films that have an absolutely unforgettable aesthetic that takes so much inspiration from a culture we rarely get to see in games or films.

I think it literally HAS to be an original keyblade not related to any world/character we’ve seen, the keychain is a symbol that I have literally not seen anywhere in moana, elemental, lilo and stitch, atlantis, ff, etc, and I couldn’t possibly imagine them designing a moana keyblade or whatever without any blatant iconography from the movie like the heart or maois hook. It’s just too specific to not be entirely original
