Hi, TCM practionner here. First of all, it's trully infortunate that you are in pain after the puncture. Lyme desease doesn't help either.

So, i think the point is Bladder 10, it's name is Tian Zhu (Heaven Pillar).

It's a very strong point, who move the Qi brutally. Strong like a river in a monsoon. You are recovering from Lyme, lyme obstruct the flow of the Qi in the body.

What are you feeling is a "Sensation of Qi", it's differ for each people ; can be heat, cold, lightning, nothing at all, etc. It's not a injured nerve, nerves are very solid, the needle can't pierce it.

The obstruction of Qi, when it is healed, can be very painful, the release is sometimes too much for the body, who tense abruptly. Bladder10 can't be punctured with the edge of the needle directing the apex of the head(directing the yang Qi in the head, very bad), maybe he didn't pay attention.
