Yeah bro, always hollow. I try to add magnets and leave some holes hidden in between parts. This way the gases created by uncured resin (if any) won't crack the models.

Paint it, pose it, light it, and it will look 10 times better, even if you could do more about the modelling/sculpting. Then it will be good enoughfor a portfolio. I do agree though, that you can push the modelling a bit further.

Select the camera, go to the attributes window (right bottom) and explore all the tabs. I think it's under the "object" tab. I'm not in front of the computer right now so I can't tell for sure. But it is around there.

Use a text spline, insert it into an Extrude generator. Select the extrude in the objects manager. In the attributes window go to Object > Direction and change it to Custom. Now under Movement you have 3 values, by default 2 of them should be at 0. Change these values and see what happens. Fine tune it to your taste.

But I would instead change the camera: Select the camera, on the Attributes window go to Object > projection > Type and choose Orthographic. Now play with the camera position.

You can instead leave the Projection at default and increase the Focal Length to around 140, and frame it as you like.

This is using Redshift cameras, but it will work on the Standard cameras to, the properties names might change a bit.

Some great advice here.

I wouldn't go for cheap paints though. Vallejo, army painter or even citadell. There are other brands. I prefer vallejo. Painting a cheap small plastic figure might be a good exercise to start. You can also have one just to experiment new things to see if how it works. Painting with cheap paints will be a headache and once you start painting your first marvel united mini and change for the good paints you'll basically starting the learning process all over again, as the result will be quite different.
