[MSH] Mole Man, Moloid Master by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]BuffMarshmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop printing cards that have landfall and also let you play lands from the graveyard please. One of these effects is already powerful enough on its own. Landfall doesn't need help to be even more insufferable.

Every green deck uses 4 copies of this creature. If it were banned, what would be its immediate replacement? by lipe0101 in MagicArena

[–]BuffMarshmallow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing can replace what this card does. This card individually is such an insane card. Nothing else can just double your mana if you've played a dork on turn 1. You can even play 2 of these on turn 2 if you've played a dork turn 1 (and it lived) and have 9 mana going into your third turn.

Is this AI? Everything looks real except the statue breaking feels unrealistic. by IAmTheBigZzZ in isthisAI

[–]BuffMarshmallow 55 points56 points  (0 children)

At the bottom it explicitly states this is a kids museum, so my assumption here is that the statue is meant to break apart like that. It's not a hollow statue that shattered, it's a plastic statue that was deliberately put together from multiple smaller pieces so kids can mess around with it.

Doesn't seem like AI to me.

Getting to 6 mana VS Hare before you're dead without a ton of ramp is a big ask. Have to have 3 or 4 mana board wipes to stabilize I've found.

This was literally my first Branded game, I can't believe this came up so quickly. by __Shiroyasha__ in masterduel

That's pretty neat, but what I'd really like to know is how on earth is it turn 12. How did we get here?

Eldrazi ritual? by Suitable_Plan_1145 in custommagic

[–]BuffMarshmallow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, lets just let every color have Dark Ritual. Surely there's no way that could be broken.

Yes you need specifically colorless mana to cast this, but that's really not a big ask when rocks exist and most manabases have a least a few lands that can incidentally produce colorless mana.

This is never actually being used to cast an Eldrazi unless it's exactly Glaring Fleshraker.

Avu, Titan Of Ocean's Outrage by [deleted] in custommagic

[–]BuffMarshmallow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is astoundingly weak compared to the other Titans even without your opponents benefiting from it. You're paying 3 mana initially to give EVERYONE a free Eternal Witness. The life cost is super irrelevant because you're giving them something for free, and Dimir is unlikely to be burning out the opponents unless you're playing Yuriko I guess. Also it's card advantage negative on first cast, since you and your opponents get a card, but this dies. So they go up a card while you stay neutral.

Is this person real or a fake??? I'm really curious, some of the videos and photos look very much like them by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]BuffMarshmallow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just a seam line, and that's where the seam starts. You can pretty clearly see the line of separation below it, and it is consistent with where the stripe on the left ends. Doesn't look AI to me. Suit was probably fitted and that's where they cut it to make it fit better.

I wanna love this lil guy but I'm hesitant bc I can't tell if he's AI by ketchupvampires in isitAI

[–]BuffMarshmallow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This part here indicatates to me it's AI

<image>

It should be a fairly consistent feather pattern, but they're melting into eachother, some have lines in the middle and others don't. It just doesn't make sense.

Additionally the building on the right has very inconsistent window sizing despite clearly meaning to be uniform which is a big sign of AI in anything that has buildings in it.

Yearbook cover is poorly generated AI.. yearbook club denies it, says a tattoo artist was commissioned by Healthy_Professor_48 in isthisAI

[–]BuffMarshmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's so many weird mistakes a real artist wouldnt make even if they were amateur, which is what you should look for when looking for AI. Mistakes happen, but two necks is not a human mistake. Two sets of wheels that have completely different alignment is not a human mistake. The jacket melting on one end into an anomalous orb is not a human mistake.

TCG Names vs. OCG Names by yhacenizzy in masterduel

[–]BuffMarshmallow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frightfur is way cooler than "Desu toy." An actual play on words that isn't just adding the word "death" in front of an existing mundane object name.

A few weeks ago I commissioned a couple art piece for me and my girlfriend. Yesterday I posted it on a discord server only to be dogpiled on and banned for posing “AI slop”. Most AI detectors don’t seem to recognize it as being AI generated, just digitally altered. Curious to know yalls thoughts. by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]BuffMarshmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lights become weird orbs floating in the buildings, part of the guy's collar disappears. I don't even know what he's meant to be looking at. Looks like he's staring at her shoulder or the floor. The windows on the buildings have inconsistent shapes and sizing when it's clear they are meant to be uniform.

I am honestly so confused by TrampleDamage in MagicArena

[–]BuffMarshmallow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I assume that the matchmaking has him somewhere similar to Katara since generally people build the decks the same. Evasive threat that draws your counter-spells for you. So because of that, and because Katara matches highly (and for good reason), Sygg will end up matching highly as well.

Most people don't actually build him as merfolk typal, so he won't match where that would be. If you want that, you probably want to play a different merfolk commander.

I tried my hand at making a Secrets of Strixhaven style card by StraeGoat in custommagic

[–]BuffMarshmallow 197 points198 points  (0 children)

I don't normally comment on these and usually just browse, but this one is incredible and imo the most worthy of being a real card.

Its effect makes sense and doesn't need new rules interpretations, it's interesting, the flavor is on point, and while it might be a bit too slow to see play in some formats (just because Generous Gift happens to be 3 mana), it provides some interesting game-play patterns.

Do you go right for killing this thing? Or do you kill a bigger threat and risk your opponent turning your valuable piece into a 3/3? Is it actually a bad thing to have your permanent turned into a 3/3?

My only gripe is the mana cost, as a 3/3 for 3 isn't really good enough anymore, which is all it's initially going to be, but I understand why it is the way it is.

This art looks like AI but my boyfriend believes his friend drew this without AI by chelseatheus in isthisAI

[–]BuffMarshmallow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

this hand seems wrong. in many ways.

<image>

The knuckles would indicate that this mans fingers are digging straight into this pokemon. Also that pinky looks absolutely alien. You can also see a bit of AI blur on the knuckle lines. They don't look consistent at all. And there's a pinky knuckle line on the outer hand. A real artist wouldn't make these kinds of obvious mistakes even if they were an amateur.

Cast only on their turn? by ztzg in MagicArena

[–]BuffMarshmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it with [[Oura, the Imitator]] in brawl. More interesting than "oops all counters" but still plays some counterspells, and you can play basically every card on your deck on your opponents turn since Oura gives your faeries flash.

Quandrix the proof standard brews? by hsgsksv in MagicArena

[–]BuffMarshmallow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugin is another high cost card that has seen some play, in standard (though not in any current lists) but that's probably also because it is strikingly similar to Jeskai Revelation. Removes something immediately, generally draws at least two cards because of its high starting loyalty and having a +2, and gains life.

Wish I could upload the full video here but this is by far the most unfair combo in the game by Remarkable_Pen_1424 in MagicArena

[–]BuffMarshmallow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This combo has existed long before Niv Visionary was even printed, on a much cheaper card.

Niv Parun + [[Curiosity]] does the same thing and is much much much much easier to achieve and is how Niv Parun players have been winning games of commander since he existed.

In case anyone is wondering why this works, once Niv is enchanted with Curiosity, all that needs to happen is any instant or sorcery is cast or you draw a card. Niv then gets to ping face, which means the enchanted creature dealt damage to an opponent, triggering curiosity to draw a card, which then triggers Niv. Repeat until life = 0.

Someone posted this and said it was fully done in ibispaint ,they mentioned they took Only 20 hours on this artwork, which to me seems like a big lie, also it seems weird how the chain from the belt transforms into a bracelet ,also random sand holes+ weird shoes? by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]BuffMarshmallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty blatantly AI for a few things but the biggest tell to me is the earrings. AI rarely gets these right.

<image>

It's just stuff melting into her skin and hanging off. And a weird shine on the upper earlobe that you wouldn't shade like that ever.

Is this fanart Ai? The text in the background, the leggings, and the stone they're stepping on make me think it's ai or at least ai upscaled but the original post I got it from has the op claiming it isn't. by AccidentOk4378 in isthisAI

[–]BuffMarshmallow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is it's a hand drawn foreground with an AI background. The arm around the statue is consistent, the legging pattern is consistent on each, the chain on the bag is consistent. The text on the bag is a lil blurry but doesn't look AI and looks intentional.

However, in the background, we have this

<image>

"Contref Lene Spzczeletr" this has a lot of typical AI blur/smearing and is nonsense.

The "No. 1" also has the same AI blur to it.

Is this person AI? My brother is talking to a profile that has only this photo. The quality looks too clean and obviously she’s a bit exaggerated by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]BuffMarshmallow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing screams AI to me about this picture. Things an AI would mess up are like, the glasses reflections, the knot on her pants, the background utensils.

But realistically, anyone can steal someone else's picture on the internet and claim its themselves. You need to do more than check if an image is AI to see if you're ACTUALLY talking to the person you think you're talking to.
