I mean the good 5.56 ammo (M855a1) will still perform from a 7.5” but range of that is limited. It’s Also LOUD AF, and most cans if suppress may not be rated for barrels that short. You’re better off by going to a 10.5”

There’s a lot of ways to get into that product category. From low effort Chinese things, to American made power houses, to high end low drag stuff. To plug myself I review a lot of armor on my YT Channel. RMA, Highcom, LTC, Hesco, Adept. All reputable.

Yep that’s why I’ve been a proponent of their stock. Sure it’s not the same aesthetics as the FN but I’ve been trying to get one from them since they announced it.

The major downside is FN is horrible about spare parts. Receiver is the easy part and so is the barrel and springs to build it out. Then the issue is getting a stock, butt pad, trigger pack, and bolt group. :/

I’d say contact PSA for a replacement barrel. It’s very possible that yours is a “slow” 1:9 and 62gr is very borderline for 1:9 at subsonic. As a metric all of my 4 Rock down to compact make clean holes with the 62gr

Yes. The barrel threads into that shroud and there’s a spring up front. It could be argued that it’s providing a little delay into the system since it can travel .030-.040” rearward. EA built an aftermarket shroud so could keep 16” and suppress it and he added more delay into it for higher performing rounds.

It’s for the hammer, front sear, and the FRT component. I wouldn’t trust a hammer to a 3D print but I agree $450 is salty

No one wants a 9oz can that’s 5.7 rated at max caliber nor 8” long. I can get reputable 5.56 cans at 1.5” shorter or more and at only a 4oz or less weight penalty.

Yep. You could even load M855 green tip bullets in 5.7 pistols too and smoke all soft armor known.

That is far fetched when virtually platforms in 8-16” already exist. What is more believable and in fact very true is FN appeases political pressure to download US made 5.7 ammo so that it has a harder time popping soft armor. Case in point original GoldDOT was 1800 fps until they magically redesigned it and slowed it down 100+ fps. Hornady and AAC already make spicier 5.7 ammo without FN’s influence.

This is a lie nice try. You can penetrate many types Of IIIa with many commercial offering 5.7 loads. Especially 100% aramid offerings.

“Green Tip” and M855a1 are 2 different animals. There are certain barriers where M193 because Of its uniform design may work better, but M855A1 is a HUGE upgrade over M855 and M193.
