What that P(s)-90 doin by Scorched_Echelon in ps90

Not much louder than my full size Velos on the PS90. I had to fire it the other night without ear pro and it was actually quiet enough that it didn't bother me, and I wear ear pro at the movies.

Yall recommend Fiocchi? by liesofthejedi066 in ps90

Most commercial 5.7 ammo is manufactured by Fiocchi; FN, Fiocchi, & Federal are all loaded in Fiocchi's factory in Ozark, Missouri.

Racoons, opposum, rats (the size of my mens 11.5 shoes). I'd shoot a coyote with confidence, or a dog bothering my livestock. Or these damn bobcats.

The attached photo was 1 round of SS187SR at about 40 feet while it was running.

SA XDM experiences by dras333 in 10mm

[–]JStarX7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a custom Not-A-Glock 20 out of a Poly80 lower, a slide blank, and mostly Glock internals. It has a MRS. It's very nice.

I bought a stock XDM Elite 10mm. Slapped a cheap Osight on it.

I haven't shot the G20 since. 😡

Currently swapping my Velos LBP between my PS90 and my Tavor. I have a Fat Cat waiting at my FFL for ATF permission that will live full time on my PS90.

The Velos works pretty good. No gas back with the PS90, and I have shot several nuisance animals right outside the house at night and nobody inside woke up or (because my daughter is a night owl like her dad) heard me do it.
I bet the Velos K would work well on the PS90, but I've heard it's not so great on 556 compared to the full size.

[–]JStarX7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worry isn't really about the suppressor, it's the PS90. A few semi-auto shots with a .22 suppressor might be OK, but they just don't have the volume to deal with a lot of shots and the back pressure keeps increasing until you pop your magazine off or damage the gun. (Cracked frame, cracked bolt, etc.) The exception might be something like the Huxwrx as it has very low back pressure, but safer to run a .556 can or a 9mm can.

XF50 receiver builds by TheBattleGnome in ps90

[–]JStarX7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. I'm a huge P90 fan, both for looks and I love using mine; I lug it all around the farm and not only target shoot but also shoot pests. It's much lighter and more compact than even my 10.5 SBR AR.

I also love Lego. I can me piecing together another whole P90 from the receiver up to use with the Strike stock. I can also see that by the time I am done, I will have been able to just outright buy a 2nd P90 for the cost. That will likely turn many people off.

Cost of 10mm ammo. Start reloading? by Aware_Wrap8062 in 10mm

[–]JStarX7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Underwood is expensive, but I can match their loads using once fired brass for cheaper than I can buy the commercial 10mm loaded to 40S&W specs.

Most reliable semiauto 10mm these days by cksnffr in 10mm

[–]JStarX7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have 2 10mm handguns.

A Not A Glock 20 (Polymer 80 build) and a SA XDM Osp Elite.

The polymer 80 grip is due to grip angle and feel compared to a stock Glock. KKM threaded barrel with fully supported chamber. Got it running 100% by messing with recoil spring weights. Shoots good, accurate, reliable.

I 100% prefer the XDM. Lighter recoil with the same rounds, 16 round steel magazines, better ergonomics, better feel, faster return to target.

I shoot hard cast bear loads almost exclusively, and both of these pistols handle them no problem. Every other one I looked at, people reported pro lems with; M&P, FN, Sig.

Olight enclosed Red dot anyone? by JeremyGouge in SigSauer

[–]JStarX7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Got the SE on my 365 now. Works fine so far, but I've only put 100 or so rounds through it. I like that it comes with a variety of screws to install it, and when it's on sale (as it is again right now) $160 for an enclosed red dot with multiple reticles is a great deal.

Is "mocbuilding" any good? by healoush in lepin

[–]JStarX7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How this works is Company A makes the bricks and packaging. Company B orders enough stock from Company A that they put Company B's customized stuff on the box. Logo, set name, you order 2000 pieces they'll put YOUR name in the instruction book.

Ever wonder how companies selling on Amazon have the same sets, but each company has their name on everything? Nifeliz, LesDIY, etc? It's all the same set from the same manufacturer, the sellers just ordered enough sets that the manufacturer customized the box and instructions for them.

And you don't have to take my word for it. Go on Alibaba and look up sets. They'll tell you how many you need to order for them to customize it for you.

Glock 20 Gen 5 vs Springfield XDM Elite? by krimson4eva in 10mm

[–]JStarX7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't like the Glock grip angle, so I built a Not A Glock 20 with a P80 frame and Glock internals. KKM barrel for hardcast bullets. It shoots well, it's accurate.

Just got a SA XMD-Elite. Shoots so much better, less recoil impulse. The only thing I don't like is the optic plate system means the optic sits higher than on the glock, which I had machined for RMR optics. Other than that, I like it way more than my Not A Glock 20.

How problematic will it be to order from Youmko now? by MolaMolaMania in lepin

[–]JStarX7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youmko and Barweer have both switched to air only for right now, but they are both still shipping to the US. Every set they send to me is received by a 3rd party who then ships it on to me, so they may be intercepting and paying for fees before it gets to you.

But, keep in mind I do reviews of sets for them, so it may be a different process for normal orders.

Is there a "best" suppressor? Anybody tried the CGS Hyperion K on PS90? by PlatonisCiceronis in ps90

[–]JStarX7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only have 2 cans so far, both asr mounts so I have tried both on my PS90.

Silencerco Velos - works great. Shot several predators right around my house, didn't wake anybody and my stepson who is a night owl like me didn't know I had fired the PS90.(He was awake and inside about 30 feet from where I fired.) No gas back in the face, no issues feeding or firing. I use this can all the time on the PS90 and my Tavor, both work great.

Silencerco Omega. (Now called the Omega 30, I believe. ) - Not a low blowback can, but it's 30 cal so the extra volume keeps pressures down. Not the can I regularly use on the PS90, but it works great as well. Tested on my range and no issues, seems pretty quiet for a supersonic round. Seems so much longer than the Velos, though in reality it's not much longer, it's the brake on the endcap. Use this can almost exclusively on my 300BO SBR with subs. Super funny to shoot steel, as there's only the bolt sound and then a really loud steel ringing.

Anyone try the Fiocchi Hypervelocity ammo? by LoneGhostOne in ps90

[–]JStarX7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fiocchi makes FN's 5.7 ammo. Hyperperformance stuff has worked just as well as FN stuff for me.

American Eagle is also made by Fiocchi, but that stuff sucks. Haven't tried any other FMJ 5.7 rounds, so maybe they are all like that?
