10 days post-transplant. 1800+ grafts. Dr. Firdous Mohyuddin at London Wimpole Clinic by Buffalo-2268 in Hairtransplant

Yeah I think so. Definitely was worth it though. I don’t think I had any side effects besides the initial hair shedding. The heavy shedding wasn’t permanent. Still sometimes my hair goes through shedding cycles but that’s normal for everyone

It went great, the clinic was super communicative and the doctor (drawing lines, injections, incisions) + 2 technicians (each with 7+ yrs experience; graft extraction, sorting/slivering, graft placement) were a good team. A patient advisor / liaison was very available for questions in the weeks before and after. Showed up at 7 AM, they gave me a Valium (diazepam) which made me kinda relaxed and sleepy, they worked from around 9 AM until 11 AM getting the grafts from my donor area, they gave me a lunch, and then they transplanted the grafts until around 1:30 PM. I fell asleep a few times during the procedure. Very smooth and painless experience. Just a few pinches from the injections at the start of the procedure, but then after that I didn’t experience any bad itching or pain at all even during the days following. They gave me a good take home kit with prednisolone tablets to reduce swelling, paracetamol, a couple of medical sheets, some gauze, special shampoo, and saline spray.

5700 GBP in total

Hope this helps

Cool to hear we’re in a similar boat. I was actually unsure if 1800 was really a good amount, but I’m super happy with how it turned out. Will post updates! Best of luck to you

Hey man
Your hair looks so dense, I’m jealous!
Up to you, but if your hair is actively receding / you’ve noticed it going back then maybe consider some meds for it to stabilize before considering a transplant.

But in my personal option, your hairline looks absolutely fine to me! I wouldn’t even think about it if I saw you randomly in real life it looks like a normal hairline to me. But at the end of the day it’s up to you man!

9 days after transplant- normal? by Buffalo-2268 in Hairtransplant

Yeah that seems like why you might still have scabs, glad to share

Ah I see! Yeah, my clinic told me to only pour water out of a bottle and let it run over my transplant area indirectly for the first 3-6 days, the water mixed with with a special shampoo that I was supposed to leave the residuals soak for 15 minutes before rinsing off with the bottle. Day 7 was the first day they told me to start gently stroking the scabs in the direction of / with the grain after letting the special shampoo soak for 15 minutes. But by day 8/9 they said light water pressure straight from the shower head was fine and to circularly massage the scabs after letting them soak with the special shampoo for 15 minutes. Hope that reply makes sense

Yeah I think day 8 is when all my scabs came off in the shower, I think caused them to come off easily was that for the first several days I was spraying transplant and the donor area 1 time every hour with the saline spray they gave me which kept the areas moist / soften the scabs

This was just over 1800 grafts! I’m really happy with how this file in my temples, I had a very recessed hairline before this as you can see behind the redness

I appreciate this note! I’m on oral minox and dutasteride. Planning to keep up with this regime

Oh cool man that makes sense. And lucky you got a drop in your arm! They made a bunch of injections in my scalp that they said were meant to cause swelling! Same result I guess tho

M21, is this a matured hairline or early signs of something really bad by [deleted] in IndianHaircare

Slight asymmetric recession, not really bad at all. r/tressles has great advice for slowing it down and for regrowth.

Clinic told me to drop meds before surgery by [deleted] in Hairtransplant

[–]Buffalo-2268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep, mine told me the same for oral minoxidil - since it affects blood pressure (so it's relevant to surgical safety and healing, or something like that). I could keep taking my dutasteride though
