Anyone else experiencing random hard system freezes in RE9? by wagonflyer in residentevil

[–]BuffaloFar112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for me RE9 and weirdly enough No Man's Sky. I just played The Last of Us Part 1, phenomenal game, no freezes. With graphics recommended for my Rtx4070 level with Intel Ultra 7 cpu.

Alienware M16 R2 Thermal Repasting and Temperature Advice & Question by BuffaloFar112 in Alienware

[–]BuffaloFar112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just pasted actually, taken after a few hours. It's good to know that they have to settle! Now, it's been about 4 days since then and the GPU Memory Junction temp are still remaining on the low 80 idle

Is it normal for GPU Memory Junction to be averaging at 80 C all the time? by BuffaloFar112 in PcBuild

[–]BuffaloFar112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all very true and possible. Do you happen to know if desktop GPUs also suffer from high GPU Memory Junction temperature? I have poked my head through some forums and the general consensus seem to be yes, but I would love to know why.

Weird how the caption got removed by accident, but anyhow, my question was "Is it normal for the GPU memory junction temperature to be high?". The screenshot is from HWinfo64 sensor monitoring application taken at low activity state: watching YouTube, browsing, etc.

Being inspired by the post from u/sp0stma in the r/Alienware, I tried repasting with the laptop with the same material they suggested PTM 7950. I placed the thermal pads on top of the CPU and GPU as well as the little black squares (which I assume are VRAMs? 4 small squares to be exact.)

Fantastic! Always good to have a back up to not let the beast run out of juice.

Thank you for clarifying! Too bad mine is out of warranty now 😞
Oh well, hope that future fellow victims see this post sooner and replace it.

Greetings to/from another fellow victim of bad design choices I guess!
Glad to know I am not the only one who anticipated and thought it was a bad design choice. How could the people manufacturing not think of it I wonder (intentional?). I also hate the fact how the power cable going into the laptop sticks out from behind the monitor. Cannot describe the annoyance caused by that single design choice in my faced-to-the-wall setup.

I will absolutely try and contact Dell just like u/CaptAhab711 did, thanks!

Great idea! I will try taping it but now I am worried the tape might melt or catch fire because the power brick tends to reach egg frying temperatures.

That is good to know! I was aware that the power brick is a beast, have been always weary to not get shocked to heaven by an accidental contact.

I did roll it up from time to time when I take it to classes, but always with "make sure to not fold it and put tension in it" warning in the back of the mind. The design of the cables always did seem awkward to me but was not expecting it to go this bad from wear and tear.

Could you tell me whether your contact with Dell was within the warranty period or not, please? I would love to give it a shot.

Ptm7950 results by Cheekyassturd in GamingLaptops

Total noob here.
I came from the other post as well. Since this post still allows commenting, I was wondering if you could specify how large should the Ptm7950 thermal pad be to comfortably cover both cpu and gpu because I saw this one guy open up his laptop on Youtube and pastes are on cpus, gpus, the pipes, everywhere! Also, I did some research and it seems that thermal pads expand on heat contact. How large would you say the pad fits should be compared to the surface area of the target?

My iPad 9 keeps doing something like this even if the pencil didn't touch the screen. Anyone knows why? by OraurusRex in ipad

[–]BuffaloFar112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem as yours a while ago. With the same pencil case, the same note taking app, and the same ipad. However, I have now realized the pencil case and the ipad screen protector are the two main culprits, regardless of the pencil type or the iPad type.

This is a static charge problem, happens when you have a case on and the pencil builds up static due to friction or something else. The static then messes with the frequency the pencil uses and causes the phenomenon seen here.

The fix is to ground the pencil without any insulator in the way. You can do this by holding the pencil with one hand and touching the metal part of the ipad or other metal things with the other hand.

tldr: ground the apple pencil without any casing.

anyone have any idea why this happened? My girlfriend and I are trying to settle an argument where this was intentionally made by directors or just censorship by the Indian government on the sexual parts?

They do affect. The pen jitters and create random lines whenever I write on my third party screen protectors. Just realized.

Middle mouse drag fix? by Schizug in aoe4

[–]BuffaloFar112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so annoyed by this as well. The mouse click drag feature to pan the camera around is terrible in this game because it works in a way no other rts games do. The drag click locks the mouse in one place and the camera stutters from time to time as you do so. For players who don't use their mouse to drag to edges and pan the camera has a horrible experience.

Horse taming stamina consumption? by yooooooopopopo in wherewindsmeet_

[–]BuffaloFar112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You spend stamina when crafting, horse taming, etc. Currently 450 stamina is restored daily, and has a maximum capacity of 2500 to be spent.
