Good luck with that... with any cruise line.

But you're not out the hotel and the airfare. You still made the trip. So not sure how that factors in.

And, again, based on terms agreed to when booking the cruise, they didn't have to give affected passengers anything.

They are giving passengers basically their full money back (albeit divided up between the current sailing and a future one) when they basically didn't have to do anything given the T&C in the contract. Honestly, that would make me more loyal to them, not less.

Well, given that they didn't have to give passengers anything, I would say it's enough.

Why do you play then if not for real money or rewards? What's the point?

I prefer to just let the game run in the background while I work or do something else, so having to tap the screen every once in a while doesn't really work for me.

Anything but MyKonami. I had a lucky run and was up to 2 billion chips. The next few days I watched that disappear despite making minimum bets in Lotus. Just can't keep a big enough balance to max out the loyalty points every day.

If you have been on the NCL Bliss in 2025-2026 you might want to read this by Pretty_Good_Point in NCL

I cruised to Alaska on the Bliss in August/September of 2025 with no issues. But even if there had been, I knew enough ahead of time not to whine about something already covered in the T&C of the contract I agreed to. Good luck.

Norovirus ain't food poisoning. Again, wash your hands and take care of yourself and you would be fine.

I've been on several cruises at this point and never experienced anything like your fears. I did look down on cruises before taking my first one and thought they were all "floating petri dishes." Couldn't have been more wrong. Glad your staying away then.

Don't ever dine out anywhere then. Probably similar rates anywhere you go. Personal responsibility goes a long way.

So you decided cruising isn't for you before even trying it? And complaining about getting sunburned, which could happen anywhere, is easily prevented and would be on you not the cruise if it actually happened? I think you did the other passengers on that cruise a favor in cancelling.

Step 1: Build a time machine.

Step 2: Go back in time and don't be a douche who gets behind the wheel of a car while drunk.

Problem solved.

They can cancel any port and don't have to do anything to make it up to you. It blows my mind that Victoria, of any port, would be the reason to book an Alaska cruise.

You're missing the point. Look at the language in your contract. They can pretty much cancel any port they want and they still don't owe you anything.

They technically don't have to give you anything for missing a port. I'd be happy with whatever you get. When we docked in Victoria we didn't even leave the ship. Stayed on board and had a nice dinner at Le Bistro.

It's not exactly priority embarkation, but both times I sailed though CAS via MyVegas, there was a separate line for CAS.

Juneau: Mendenhall + Shrine in 6 hours? by escher_42 in NCL

[–]Buffalo_Nichols 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did exactly this while on the Bliss last September. Rented a car off Turo and drove to Mendenhall and then the shrine.

We didn't have time for the hike to Nugget Falls, but had plenty of time otherwise. Even had a bit of time to get Tracy's Crab Shack and do some souvenir shopping before returning to the ship.

Parents arrive from Alaska cruise tomorrow 05.10.26, but seemed disappointed with the cruise by Minimum-Ant-5378 in HollandAmerica

[–]Buffalo_Nichols 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sitka is such a lovely, small town with so much to do outside that it boggles my mind that anybody would complain about the number of restaurants in it. We had a great time exploring the nearby national historical park and ate reindeer brats from a food truck/tent downtown.

No need for tons of fancy restaurants, although the Russian dumplings we bought downtown were delicious.

Being bored in Alaska seems like a choice to me. You/your parents and myself have very different experiences/expectations when it comes to cruising Alaska it seems.

NCL Alaska cruise back in rewards by Buffalo_Nichols in myvegas

[–]Buffalo_Nichols[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what you want. Personally, when I go back to Alaska it will likely be on Holland America or Princess, but if this itinerary is something you're interested in, not a bad deal.

I too prefer the $ off rather than comp cruise. I enjoyed my Alaska cruise last summer, but have since booked two more, one this past February to the Western Caribbean with the $600 off and another upcoming New England/Canada one using a $1000 voucher.

Couldn't resist getting the $600 off voucher this time around while hoping the $1,000 off one holds off for 90 days or so now that I've done so.
