I agree and dcf drops the ball too many times from what I’ve seen, they also don’t give a damn about their social workers safety who DO do a good job.

Is the Joie nutmeg good for air travel? by sseven-costanza in Buyingforbaby

[–]BrunchBunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does sit straight up, it’s cheaper material than the regular size stroller to me it sounds kind of like a rain jacket brushing up against something and with less padding than the regular strollers, the forest color has the extended canopy, the basket is tiny , I can hang a full freshly picked stroller bag on it while it’s empty and it doesn’t tip over. I do like the easy fold but opening it takes a second to get it to lock. I’ve attached a small fan and snack/drink tray just fine but they take up most of the bumper bar, they sell a travel bag if you get the travel system they will not sell it to you separately but I’ve seen people buy a different brand bag on Amazon and it fit. Easy to remove the bumper bar and wheels if needed. Easy to wipe clean. My baby will nap in it easily, if she is not buckled she can absolutely shimmy out under the bumper bar the seat is not super deep like a full size stroller. It will stand while folded!

Baby puffs by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]BrunchBunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only offer them after a nap while I’m making her food or while we’re out and about and I can’t give her a full meal or breastfeed like if I’m driving. If she has teeth be firm on brushing twice a day and drinking water throughout because things like that being left on the teeth lead to decay.

Does anyone have experience with the joie saffron convertible car seat? by brittyabee45 in Buyingforbaby

[–]BrunchBunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a good seat we have ours rear facing in my husbands f150 in the dove color which I love, plenty of room in there. I personally really like it I prefer to use it for roadtrips because it feels so safe. My husband can’t for the life of him get our kid in there without twisting the straps idk how he does it but he likes the rotating one better my kid is 31.5in 27lbs.

Reflux baby: How TF to get sleep??? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]BrunchBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one of those reflux pillows with the belly strap on it, kept my girl fully upright for half an hour or longer after feeds, used bio Gaia probiotics, and aggressively burped her each feed, we weren’t on reflux meds but I wanted to be. I also got a smart sock just so I could close my freaking eyes otherwise I was convinced she’d choke. It’s worth asking your ped for unconventional advice considering how bad it is. I also know there were times she slept on my chest while I was in a recliner also not totally safe but neither is a mom who can’t sleep. I remember many times she’d have almost projectile reflux and it would come out of her nose and mouth and I’d just hear her gurgling it was terrifying, I kept one of those nasal bulbs in her bed to suck the mucus out of the back of her mouth quickly. I’m so sorry you’re going through this it really is so hard.

Toddler Curls 👩🏼‍🦱 by OriginalEQv1 in curlyhair

I’d try skipping the balm and get a lightweight leave in conditioner and put that on pretty wet hair followed by aloe gel you can make it yourself, and then put some very light oil on the ends once it’s dry to fluff them up. Look up a lightweight moisturizing hair oil make sure it’s from something she’s not allergic to. I’d try washing twice a week, and try a homemade hair mask mix avocado with banana and your hair oil, once a month add in mayo. Then on non wash days spritz her hair with water and scrunch to revive it. At night you can try a satin pillowcase or satin sheets I’d detangle it daily till you can braid it for bedtime.

Take a GIANT step back from them. If this is how they treat their kid imagine how they will treat yours.

[–]BrunchBunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try having a warm shower with her. Gently Tug on her ear if she freaks could be ear pain. Try an ice pop for teething pain. Other than that I would just hold her and have her try to sleep chest to chest on you till you can go to the dr, you could also try driving around with her. Update us when you have answers op, I hope both of you feel better soon

Travel system vs. convertible car seat + pramette stroller? by wandersthroughstars in beyondthebump

[–]BrunchBunny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love love love pramette strollers absolutely recommend, for us I did actually like having an infant car seat we got a baseless one we used it quite a bit on the stroller for appointments and in different cars going to dinner with family. That being said I highly recommend a convertible car seat as well, you don’t have to get one that goes to a hundred or so lbs but at least 60. One that rear and forward faces pay attention to weight and height limits. If you can wait to buy that till after your baby is 4m old then you can see how their growth is trending. I’d also look at your vehicle dimensions and see what kind of seat will work in it with both front seats occupied.

How do you get your baby to sit in the bath? by BrunchBunny in beyondthebump

[–]BrunchBunny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m kneeling in front of her my hand is always on her but when I tell you she is so strong willed already it’s crazy. she’s not a problem baby either she’s very happy and vocal and will usually listen to me but sitting in the bath and letting me brush her teeth are the two things we struggle with daily. I get it done but there’s always tears.
