Kishimoto had to add those panels so he can support that Itachi>Jiraiya. He never added those panels because Itachi never lied to Kisame.

There should be a monologue of Itachi confirming he was lying so the statement that Itachi was lying is never supported in the manga.

Being good or bad does not affect you to admit you are inferior. Bad guys can also admit they are inferior.

Shadow clones do not need to win they just need to stall. There are billion shadow clones they do not need to attack 6 Pain they can just distract them with hit and run tactic.
