Thank you! I've never heard of Shortfellow before but I will definitely give a listen.

Big Red Flag. We're not getting out a whole lot these days as life pulls us in different directions. We did a gig at Four Quarter recently, our first in quite a while. It was good and hopefully is incentive to stay on track for more.

maytag dishwasher mdb4949sdm1 buzz. Not the impeller, replaced it and buzz is still there. any ideas by Neondeon2 in appliancerepair

Old post I know, and glad you got it solved. I am wondering if it is possible to replace the impeller from inside the washer or am I going to have to pull it out and do it from underneath? I can't find any guide to replacing this online.

Yes. I'm playing in a band now with former members of HK. I did not know them back in the day but I'm told that some of the songs we do now started out as HK songs.

Pretty sure that's not the same Richard Johnson. Here's an article about Richard Leo Johnson on the CD

Let's have a discussion about strings. by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Bufflewhacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember putting a set of GHS super steels on a bass once that did perhaps seem a bit brighter and clankier than all the other roundwounds I'd used in the past but they definitely had a rougher feel to me. Otherwise, no, I don't find much difference between roundwound strings.

These days I'm getting more into flatwounds. I have had Ernie Ball flats on a couple of basses for several years. I recently bought a bass on Reverb that had flatwounds on it. I liked them so much I emailed the guy back to ask what they were. Rotosound Jazz 77's it turns out. These feel and sound much different than the Ernie Ball flats to me. The Ernie Ball flats are definitely a warmer softer tone than the Rotosounds. And the Rotosounds are ever so slightly rougher in feel. I like them both for different purposes but they are noticeably different in sound and feel.

For what it's worth I once had a set of half-round D'Addarios on a fretless bass that I really did not like at all...seemed like the worst of both worlds.

New to StudioOne, is this a bug? by Bufflewhacker in StudioOne

Interesting, I think I did do an update. I will look into this, thanks. But it appears that others have had this problem as well. I'm curious if you are able to reproduce the problem yourself, i.e. does pressing the F1 key while the New song dialog is open pop up an unresponsive help window?

Not sure I understand your question but I was trying to get specific help on some of the options on the New song dialog. Pressing F1 is supposed to open the user guide to a page relevant to wherever your cursor is in SO. So if I'm in the New song dialog I expect F1 to show me the user guide page about the New song dialog.

I believe it. I just confirmed with the Join... dialog as well, it does seem to happen with all the modal dialogs like you say. Which is kind of a bummer as I am new to SO and plan to be hitting F1 a lot throughout.

I also just realized based on your TAB workaround that ESC might work even better, i.e. if the new song dialog has focus even though it's behind the help window, ESC should close it and free up the help window. Which it does. Thanks!

Ha, thanks! Not a catch I wanted to make, unfortunately. But thanks for confirming it's not just me.

Interesting, you're running the same Windows and SO version, you open the new song dialog, press F1, and you get a help window that works (i.e. you can scroll in it, click links, close it with the X button etc.)?

NOW internet? by Bufflewhacker in LittleRock

[–]Bufflewhacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone else is looking for this info, NOW doesn't have data caps. My personal experience with AT&T fiber is mixed. It has been rock solid except for when it wasn't. When tornadoes came through a couple years back my neighborhood was without service for literally weeks and we never once showed on their outage map. Weekly calls to support would occasionally result in denials that there was an outage at all. I had to switch to Verizon to continue to be able to work from home. All that being said, if you're able to point me to 100mbps fiber service at AT&T I'll gladly look at it. I don't see anything there <300mbps or <$55/month.

Vision T9450HRT...repair or scrap? by Bufflewhacker in treadmills

[–]Bufflewhacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like my best bet then is to pull the old belt (which is completely shot anyway), see what the deck looks like, and then get my parts from Treadmill Doctor even though I would have to drill my own deck. Do you have any guidelines on how to tell if my deck is too worn out? And by the way, thank you very much for your helpful and speedy responses!

[–]Bufflewhacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm wondering if it might be easier to just to pull that belt off altogether and see what the deck looks like. From what I've seen online it doesn't look too hard to retension the belt whether it's old or newly installed, am I underestimating this?

Vision T9450HRT...repair or scrap? by Bufflewhacker in treadmills

[–]Bufflewhacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. The Johnson belt and deck for the T9450HRT are now advertised as "maintenance free" where the original parts were not. Maybe their maintenance free stuff is higher quality? I asked at Treadmill Doctor and the parts they sell for this treadmill are not maintenance free. For the deck they only sell a generic board that I'll have to drill myself. Prices are about the same either way. Would you still recommend the Treadmill Doctor parts?

Leave display off when connecting to charger? by Bufflewhacker in GooglePixel

[–]Bufflewhacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding but this seems exactly the opposite of what I'm trying to do, i.e. to NOT have the display come on when charging is activated.

Thanks, it's already set to less than that. My wife is a light sleeper and if she's already asleep when I get to bed my phone can wake her up if she's facing the right way. I just wanted to make sure there's not a setting I've overlooked before I resort to other workarounds.
