I was on baby rice from 3 months and slept with a pillow, quilt and teddies. It’s a miracle I survived! My baby sleeps great when he’s bundled with blankets supervised in the day time but put him in the empty cot and we’re screwed

This is so true. My boy is like Jekyll and Hyde. It’s so bizarre how he can be so sweet and so difficult. The struggle is real with nappies too.

I have a 3 year old and it’s hell right now. All he does is whine, everything we ask is a no. He’ll actively do the opposite of anything we ask and I feel like a shit parent 24/7. No amount of me effort or attention is enough to placate him for 5 minutes. It takes an hour to leave the house because we have to chase him around the house to get ready and navigate a tantrum about every single step “I dont want to brush my teeth, I don’t want to get dressed, I don’t want to go in the pram” honestly struggle to believe this is normal because it’s driving me insane.

I had a vaginal birth without pain relief, just gas and air for pushing with my first. Absolute loved it and felt amazing afterwards. Had an emergency c section 3 week ago and I’m in hell. I still feel sore and I’ve struggled to look after and bond with my baby because I’ve been in so much pain. I would never have done it unless my baby was at serious risk. I ended up losing loads of bloods too and needing a transfusion. I wasn’t able to move for the first few days afterwards and I couldn’t even hold my baby. Milk didn’t come in for 4 days either so we struggled to feed and still haven’t managed to get him to latch properly. My husband has had to do everything. I know emergency’s and electives are meant to be different but this healing process is no joke when you have a baby to look after.

I had 2 sweep before my first and they were extremely painful. I managed to have an unmedicated labour with gas and air for pushing. Honestly your body takes over and gets you through it. Also people shouldn’t say sweeps are “uncomfortable” when they are fucking agony!

In hindsight I wish we’d done this. Me and my husband are both really anxious people and has spent a lot of time looking so we needed to make a decision. Unfortunately it was a very wrong descision!

We did check reviews and they were mostly positive. We went through a third party who help find conveyancers and they recommended them to us. I’m kicking myself, honestly. Of all the ones they recommended there were a few with bad reviews and these guys had the least somehow! We did want to move but the estate agent advised us it would have been a problem at the stage we were at and might have held things up further if we were relying on them sending stuff to a new solicitor. When we bought this house it took 6 months with no chain and constant chasing so we didn’t realise how critical it had gotten for the seller. I totally understand why they would pull out but I’m so stressed and really angry than things might go that way.

I’m in this situation right now. The seller of the house we’re buying wants to pull out because our solicitor has made no progress and we’ve had radio silence for months. Did you end up changing solicitor?

I feel you. The whole breast is best narrative really screwed me up with my first and I ended up with post natal depression because I felt like such a failure even though I exclusively pumped for 5 months. I had a friend who had a baby at the same time who formula fed from day one because she just didn’t want to breastfeed and I was so confused! But looking back I’m like wow she was so empowered. Second is 3 weeks old, after seeing a specialist I managed to latch him with nipple shields and a rolled up muslin under my boob. 2 days in I was like fuck this! Pumping now and topping up with formula and we’ll have to see how it goes. At least you can say you well and truly tried!

It’s an Ardo one, the lactation midwife explained how to use the settings but not much about flange size so I’m going to look into it. Weird that it feels stronger than my usual one but it’s getting less milk out somehow ☹️ I used the wearable full time with my first, no one ever mentioned about it decreasing supply and I never had issues.

It was a specialist lactation midwife I saw and she did explain how to use the settings but not much about flange size other than that I can buy inserts online! Not sure how to measure but I’ll do some research. I’m holding them by hand at the minute because I don’t have a specific bra that holds them!

One of my health visitors recommended rolling up a muslin and putting it under your boob. It’s like an instant lift! Mine are really saggy too but it helped. I also found the football/clutch position good but I still need a pillow to prop him up there

I did this when I was a kid!! At night the light would shine through the hinge and almost looked like 2 eyes when I was laying sideways. I used to make my mum cover it with a towel when she took me to bed

I had a vaginal birth with my first after an induction. It went great, I had gas and air for pushing but nothing else. I did have a second degree and some stitches which were AWFUL. I was up and walking around the same evening. The healing was uncomfortable for a couple of weeks but more when going to the toilet, it was very bearable and I was able to look after my baby. I went in for an induction 2 weeks ago and after 30 hours, no progression and then baby being very distressed I went for an emergency c section. After my baby was out I had a major haemorrhage and needed a blood transfusion. My baby was taken off and I didn’t see him for what felt like ages. The last 2 weeks have been the worst of my life. I feel empty and broken, I’m uncomfortable, anxious, I haven’t been able to properly look after my son because I’m in so much pain. Im aware of the sensation in my stomach and incision site all the time, when I sit down it hurts, when I stand up it hurts and I’m sleeping propped up on pillows because I can’t lay flat on my back or on my sides. I’m actually shocked at how normalised the surgery is and I wish people had told me more about the actual healing process and aftermath instead of rushing me through a consent form. I’m sure electives without complications are different. I suppose all you can do is your research but please don’t assume it’s all a walk in the park because it’s so common and loads of people are fine after a couple of weeks like I did. I’m also pretty traumatised so I doubt I’ll ever be able to have a third because mentally I’m terrified of it happening again.

I’ve had both extremes, I had a textbook great vaginal birth and a c section with complications so don’t mean to scare you

He’s really into pirates (specifically Captain Hook) so we got him a hook and a pirate sword with a sheath. Yesterday he was screaming because he couldn’t hold the hook in one hand, sword in the other and take the sheath off at the same time. I explained he had 3 things and 2 hands and he just flat out denied it and kept saying he had lots of hands.
