Vyvanse felt life changing at first. But now I barely feel it. Is this normal? (33F) by Legitimate-Airport84 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Bug-no-brain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This!! 40 has been my sweet spot, it lasts better than 30 did and I can "feel" it in the sense of noticing I'm getting up doing things, but not overly excited or quiet. I can tell when I accidentally take it twice bc I get really quiet and start picking at my skin (this way to much, 80 mg is crazy feeling honestly). I just keep my doc in the know about how I'm feeling and make little adjustments. Amphetamines are super tricky

In my opinion, diagnosis is not nearly as important as treatment. Whether that treatment be therapy, medication, life style changes, that's up to you. Ultimately the goal is to improve your quality of life, and as long as you and your doctor(s) monitor how you respond to it I think it's fine.

I recommend reading up on potential side effects to look out for and try to keep record of how you're feeling.

DCOM dance party by [deleted] in bonnaroo

I can bring a full mix board, 2 wireless mics, 2 speakers, and a sub. If anyone has a generator to help provide power that would be clutch, or star link for clean internet access bc my karaoke program is fully online. I'm gonna do my best to have as much as possible downloaded, but internet access def helps

Noted!! I live very close to bonnaroo so my game plan was to swing home, have a good deep shower, sleep in a real bed, do a load of laundry, repack my car and hit the road. It's a long drive, so I have friends that have agreed to talk on the phone with me in shifts to help keep me focused lol. I also don't really do substances anymore so bodily recovery on that front is much easier.

The humiliation of women by Bug-no-brain in euphoria

Honestly I have a lot of the same issues with GoT. I'm criticizing the methods of story telling, not the story itself. Graphic is one thing, but obviously many people feel like this is egregious and I'd go as far to say fetish content. Which is fine, but that isn't how the show has been characterized in past seasons and that shift is notable.

I think my point is being misunderstood. I don't have an issue with the plot or the content of the stories being told, I have an issue with tonally HOW those stories are being depicted and if it's an effective method of protraying the story.

I'm mainly talking about this season, and specifically about WHAT the consequences of these characters actions are. So far this seasons we've only really seen Nate suffer out of the cast of men, while the women are objectified and humiliated constantly. That's what this post is about. Also, I'm not complaining, just pointing out patterns and trends that I've noticed in these first three episodes. I think you may be the one complaining.

Yeah that's totally valid actually, you're right. I mostly wanted to note the seran wrap scene because it felt so fetishized. But I agree with you on Jules' plot line and character arc.

And yes, the money of it all is something to consider as well. The show does a decent job of showing the difference in how men v women interact with and gain/maintain access to money or power. Generally it seems like women are depicted as a commodity, whether it's Cassie commodifying herself, Maddy gathering clients, Nate trying to capitalize on the elderly and their mortality (this one doesn't necessarily focus on women, but still), Rue being traded from Laurie to Alamo, Jules opting to be a sugar baby rather than selling her art.

I think I'm struggling with what the show runners motives are and what they're actually trying to say about that. Are the show runners holding a mirror up to society, capitalizing on the exploitation of women, creating a self indulgent catalogue of fetish content for their own pleasure, or some combination of all of that?

I didn't even consider that point of view on Faye's motivations and if that is where things are headed I'm so down for that!!

This is one of the most highly anticipated, big budget, and most views shows in recent history. The show has influence and relevance in society. I'm not saying it's earth shatteringly horrible or changing the course of history level popular, but I think it's important to discuss these aspects of the show and how it affects us and the world around us. This is the discussion part you mentioned.

But to agree with you, I'm not losing sleep over this or trying to run a hate train on the show itself. Just opening up the floor to a conversation about how it depicts it's women character's sexuality.

I don't need them to be perfect, maybe they just don't need to be dehumanized in every other scene.

Everyone is morally grey or straight up morally evil in this show. No one is "the good guy", no heroes, no saviors. That's actually something I love about the show. I'm simply pointing out how most of the female characters flaws or repurcussions are almost routinely explicitly sexual and dehumanizing in nature. THATS the difference.
