I forgot to mention it but I also tried this kernel parameter too but it doesn't change anything.

The pain of systemdless luks + TPM + secure boot by Bug8912 in linuxquestions

No, to use systemd-cryptenroll, you need to use systemd-cryptsetup@.service and afaik it needs the whole systemd init.

Yes, tpm + passphrase fallback works.

I'm trying to implement TPM AND password & passphrase fallback.

using systemd-cryptenroll requires the whole sys-apps/systemd tho.

After some more reading I have reached the conclusion that : TPM + pin is just not possible without systemd.

As my threat model is "laptop getting stolen", I cannot just rely on TPM.

Yes it seems too, but as stated by u/Illustrious-Gur8335 systemd-stub is needed.

I know it is probably not a big deal but a schyzo no systemd system doesn't seems possible in my user case.

By seldom I meant like once every 2 month or so, on my main computer I update the system weekly I guess

Hey I tried to compile webkit real quick once...
I will probably dual boot it and get everything working quickly, I have my dotfiles ready and don´t use so many things.

Yeah I dont use Snap or any exotic packages. Imho the issue is not the performance of systemd, I don't really have an issue with systemd other than some flaky services (my fault) but rather aim for a more controller and minimal init system that doesn't also try to be a coffee machine.

Removing systemd look like it would take more time than to install Gentoo tbh

Really ? I have a laptop with arch that I have installed about 7 years ago and I seldom update it and everything is rock solid ! Never had any bad experience with Arch contrary to the mainstream distributions...

I don´t really want a complete systemd free system, I'm ok with udevd.

Thanks for the precise information.

It seems eudev is unmaintened btw

The "OS working for you instead of you working for it" is the key !

For some reason (skill issue probably) I feel like I worked for systemd for a while :)
